Chaozhou Library consists of the first branch (Xie Huiru Library) and the second branch (a new library under construction). The first branch, Xie Huiru Library, was originally named Chaoan County Library, and 196 1 was established independently.

The library has a collection of 300,000 books, including comprehensive department, lending department, editorial department and reference department. The service window includes book lending hall, newspaper reading hall, children's lending hall, digital library, reference consulting hall, celebrity gift room and local literature room, which receives more than 300,000 readers every year and is commended as a "civilized library" by the Provincial Department of Culture.
