Students use personal income to make up and solve part of their study and living expenses; Schools use the income to improve school conditions and improve the welfare of teachers and students.
Social phenomenon:
Work-study program in a broad sense refers to taking part in labor after school. Generally, poor college students earn their living by working in their spare time. Some people don't want to get paid, but want more social practical experience.
Since 20 16, due to the unbalanced economic development in all parts of the country, the charging standard has been greatly improved after the unified system was implemented in colleges and universities, and the proportion of poor students in colleges and universities has increased greatly. In order to realize the promise that "as long as you get enough marks in the exam, you will never drop out of school", the school has done a lot of work from scholarships, student loans, social grants, tuition and miscellaneous fees reduction, financial assistance to poor students, work-study programs and so on. But there are also some problems.
Modern frugality:
1. Some of them are mainly for money (47%), but their motives for money are different. They either want to reduce the burden on their families because of financial difficulties, or want to be chic, or want to make up their "financial deficit" and so on.
2. Some are mainly for cultivating ability, understanding society, increasing life experience, exercising will and experiencing self-reliance, while "money" is secondary (29%).
Respondents frankly said: "Work-study program allows us to get in touch with society as soon as possible, broaden our horizons, increase our knowledge and exercise our ability", "If work-study program is only for money, it is meaningless" and "sweat our own sweat and eat our own food". Generally speaking, students think that they can exercise their abilities consciously or unconsciously by participating in work-study programs, but they have different views on which abilities can be exercised.
3. Other purposes: some are to help poor students or sick people, and some people regard it as a good medicine to enrich their after-school life and adjust their "boring" life, and so on. "Earning money", "getting in touch with society at an early date" and "exercising ability" are the main purposes for college students to participate in work-study programs.
