The Development of Gottingen's School of Mathematics
Gottingen Mathematics School in Germany played a central role in the creation and development of mathematics in the 20th century. The heyday of Gottingen School in the 20th century began with Klein and Hilbert. Klein is famous for his famous Herun Root Project. He classified all kinds of geometry at that time from the perspective of transformation group. He is the organizer and leader of the Gottingen School. Hilbert has done a series of work in algebra, geometry, analysis and even meta-mathematics. 1900, he gave a speech at the international congress of mathematicians in Paris, and raised 23 famous questions, which indicated that he would lead the new trend of mathematics in the new century. From 1900 to 1933, the University of G? ttingen in Germany became the world mathematics center. Weil first put forward gauge field theory, which provided a theoretical basis for general relativity; Von Neumann provided a strict mathematical foundation for the newly born quantum mechanics and developed functional analysis. Nott, a female mathematician, laid the foundation of abstract algebra with generalized idealism, and stimulated the development of algebraic topology on this basis. Courant is a master of applied mathematics, and his work in solving partial differential equations has cleared the way for a series of practical topics such as aerodynamics. The above extremely incomplete list is enough to prove that G? ttingen is indeed an international mathematics center.
