The Mathematics Tianyuan Fund of the National Natural Science Foundation of China (hereinafter referred to as Tianyuan Fund) is a special mathematics fund established by the state to support China's mathematics to catch up with the world's advanced level in 2 1 century, and the funds come from the state financial allocation. Managed by the National Natural Science Foundation of China. Tianyuan Fund and Natural Science Fund, which support mathematical research, complement each other to support mathematics discipline. Different from the projects funded by Natural Science Foundation, Tianyuan Fund is mainly used for personnel training, discipline construction and environmental improvement.

Tianyuan Fund is mainly used in the following five aspects:

1. Support and training of mathematics talents: including organizing the summer camp of mathematics stars for middle school students; Summer School of Postgraduate Mathematics; Advanced course for young teachers in the western region; Mathematics Tianyuan Youth Fund; Holding a postgraduate seminar in China in cooperation with the French Center for Pure and Applied Mathematics (CIMPA); Cooperate with the Italian International Center for Theoretical Physics (ICTP) to send some young teachers and graduate students to ICTP for further study; Strengthen the support for outstanding international students to give lectures and hold seminars in China.

2. Strengthen discipline construction and academic exchanges, including developing research on the development strategy of mathematics discipline; Support the activities of mathematics in the school year, especially the research and support to promote interdisciplinary and expand the application field of mathematics; Pay special attention to the support of discipline construction and academic exchanges in western and remote areas.

3. Create a good academic research environment for mathematics, including supporting the publication of mathematics books; Construction of mathematical network environment; The publication of some excellent mathematical magazines, etc.

4. Mathematics education and mathematics exchange: including studying the social and economic benefits of mathematics, and the relationship between mathematics and other natural sciences, education and culture; Compile a collection of mathematics education and communication for the new century and publicize the role of mathematics.

5. Other work decided by the academic leading group meeting of Tianyuan Mathematics Fund.
