Although mathematics is neglected, it is the most basic subject in our education system and a tool to solve problems. My commitment to mathematics stems from my understanding that as an effective problem solver, one should understand what is the expectation of solving daily difficulties. Mathematical proof combines logic and creativity, which is the advantage and practicality of mathematics, which makes me want to study it further.
We are surrounded by mathematics; It surrounds us. When I came across a video of "digital fan" on YouTube, my pursuit of mathematics expanded, and I began to look at this problem from different angles; It's not just an academic course to study at a specific time every week.
On the contrary, I realized that it was a way to explain things that could not be explained. In the process of taking the advanced mathematics exam, I realized that I had amazing enthusiasm for proof. Combining this growing interest with reading related books, I realized that I didn't understand the importance of meticulous work before, until I realized that it was crucial to track down mistakes and eliminate assumptions, and that it was not enough to have correct answers. From chemistry, I also learned how to use meticulous work and design experiments to solve problems, analyze and understand data. Through these practical skills, I have been able to build a bridge between A-level and college mathematics, and I am almost excited, because there may be higher-level knowledge to be discovered, and how much of it we don't know yet.
Changing schools and adapting to new learning methods are one of the reasons that led to my poor performance in the advanced exam, but I have a better understanding of my subjects and am now showing how much progress I will make in the upcoming exam and retake the exam with better exam skills.
Being elected as a math class leader gives me the opportunity to help younger students and publicize my enthusiasm for this subject to many younger students through public parties, exhibitions and tutoring courses. Although I believe that motivation comes from the heart, it may also make us think that we do mathematics entirely for the sake of mathematics itself. However, this is fiction: the publicity of mathematics enables us to be inspired by people around us and help others solve their math problems, which is very important.
Music is a kind of physical and mental exercise; You have learned to be integrated with your body and mind, and at the same time, you have discovered how to live in harmony with people around you. I take an active part in my choir, my former and present school choir, where I have the honor to perform in various prestigious activities. While enjoying the fun, to my surprise, I actually developed my numbers, logic, discipline, agility and mathematics by reading music. I participated in the school Shakespeare Festival, where I went to many theaters, such as "Twelfth Night" and "Much ado about nothing", and got familiar with good memory skills by learning Shakespeare's lines. By participating in drama activities, my communication skills have also been significantly improved.
Teamwork is a basic feature I learned in my school life. I participated in a school enterprise week, in which all groups competed to create their own products. As a team leader and financial manager, I helped my team beat the competitors by cultivating team atmosphere and winning will, and we did it. I have the opportunity to show my inner creative business side, cooperate with others and apply my math skills to real life.
Unlike other disciplines, which thrive in uncertain debates without giving final answers, and allow you to work in isolation, mathematics attaches great importance to understanding and listens to other people's ideas and opinions, which makes this discipline operate more effectively in the knowledge world, so I am going to study for a degree in mathematics.
