Department of applied physics

The Physics Department of Lanzhou University of Technology was established in 200 1. After more than ten years of rapid development, it has a dedicated teaching staff with high academic level, rich teaching experience and rich scientific research experience. His main research interests are: nanostructures and low-dimensional physics, strongly related magnetic materials and new functional materials, calculation and simulation of condensed state systems, nonlinear physics, quantum information processing, guided wave optics and optical fiber communication technology, solid microstructure and photoelectric properties. In recent five years, the Department of Physics has been supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China 15, 3 key projects of the Ministry of Education, 18 of the Natural Science Foundation of Gansu Province, 2 key projects of Tamarix chinensis at school level and 4 national patents. He won the third prize of Gansu Provincial Natural Science Award and the third prize of Gansu Provincial Science and Technology Progress Award, which were 1 respectively, and the university science and technology progress award 15, including two first prizes in Gansu Province and two teaching achievement awards, and published more than 600 papers, including more than 300 in SCI or EI. In order to accelerate the rapid growth of new young teachers, the physics department implements the young tutor system. The old teachers with good teaching effect and remarkable scientific research achievements actively guide the new teachers to carry out teaching and scientific research, so as to ensure that young teachers can improve their teaching skills quickly in scientific research, integrate into the appropriate team and become the backbone of teaching and scientific research as soon as possible. The Department of Applied Mathematics was established in 2002, and its predecessor was the Mathematics Teaching and Research Department of the Basic Science Department of Gansu University of Technology. The main research directions are: homology algebra, category of rings and modules, ordinary differential equations, functional differential equations, dynamical systems, nonlinear analysis and its application, application of differential equations and boundary value problems, application of inverse problems of partial differential equations and mathematical physics equations, financial risk models, application of stochastic processes, computational mathematics, etc. The Department of Applied Mathematics undertakes the teaching tasks of mathematics courses for undergraduates, postgraduates and doctoral students. The teaching research project "Research and Practice of Engineering Mathematics Model Teaching" won the second prize of national teaching achievement, the first prize of provincial and ministerial level, the second prize of teaching achievement of Gansu Province for "Reform and Practice of Engineering Mathematics Series Courses" and the prize of Education Department for "Optimized Teaching of Advanced Mathematics Courses". Department of engineering mechanics

The Department was established in 2002, and its predecessor was the Mechanics Teaching and Research Section, which was established in 1958. There are engineering mechanics teaching and research section, mechanics experiment center and engineering mechanics research institute. There are two undergraduate majors, theoretical and applied mechanics and Engineering Mechanics, and two master majors, Engineering Mechanics and Solid Mechanics.

There are 20 employees in the Department of Engineering Mechanics, including 7 teachers/kloc-0 and 3 experimental technicians. Among the teachers, there are 1 provincial famous teachers, 2 school-level famous teachers, 1 member of the Teaching Steering Committee of Basic Mechanics Course of the Ministry of Education, 1 member of theoretical and applied mechanics Society of China, 1 member of Gansu Mechanics Society, 3 members, 2 communication evaluation experts from the Department of Mathematical Mechanics of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, and 2 visiting scholars from the United States. Six people have doctorates and 10 people have master's degrees. There are 2 doctoral tutors and 8 master tutors.

The department of engineering mechanics mainly undertakes the teaching of basic courses such as engineering mechanics, theoretical mechanics and material mechanics, as well as the teaching of specialized courses in theoretical and applied mechanics for undergraduates majoring in engineering mechanics. Engineering mechanics has been built into a provincial-level excellent course in Gansu Province. The mechanical experiment center covers an area of 2,630 square meters, and the total value of instruments and equipment reaches 3.84 million yuan. Set up engineering mechanics experiments and mechanical professional experiments to provide relevant experimental services for school teachers and research graduates.
