How is sci partitioned?
Sci zoning has two zoning standards, one is Chinese Academy of Sciences zoning, and the other is jcr zoning. ; The same log can be the same or different in two partition standards;

The basis of partition:

Sort by impact factors first. Generally, high impact factors are high areas. The low impact factor is low area;

In the same discipline, according to the level of influencing factors.

This division method is simple and easy.

It is more in line with the counting principle in domestic school evaluation.

SCI Department of China Academy of Sciences:

SCI Division of China Academy of Sciences is divided according to the three-year average impact factors of journals.

Region 1: top 5%;

Zone 2: 6% ~ 20%;

Zone 3: 21%~ 50%;

Four areas: the last 50%;

The difference between JCR partition and JCR partition:

The two zoning methods refer to different years of periodic impact factors. JCR zoning refers to the impact factors of journals in the previous year, while SCI zoning refers to the average impact factors of journals in the previous three years.

The selection of the threshold of periodical division is different. JCR is divided in equal proportion, and SCI of Chinese Academy of Sciences is the designated threshold. The influence factors of SCI division I, II and III of China Academy of Sciences are higher than JCR division.

There are differences in the classification of periodicals. JCR is divided into 176 according to minor disciplines, while SCI of Chinese Academy of Sciences combines 176 minor disciplines into 14 disciplines such as medicine and biology based on JCR.

Summary: sci partition is actually to classify publications according to impact factors; If the division is high, then the impact factor is high and the academic content is high; For ordinary people, it is not easy to send an sci; Therefore, there is no need to care about partitions.
