The total score from primary school to junior high school is 200 points. Among them, Chinese and mathematics are 100 respectively. According to China's compulsory education policy and relevant laws and regulations, primary schools do not need entrance examinations when they enter junior high schools, and most of them are admitted nearby without examination, but private junior high schools and some public key junior high schools still hold junior high school entrance examinations.

Junior high school entrance examination can be summarized into two main forms, namely written examination and interview. Among them, the written test is mainly mathematics and Chinese. Generally speaking, the average examination time for each subject is 60 minutes. Junior high school entrance examination is a semi-open selective examination organized by various schools, so it is unstable and diverse (the examination time of each school is different, and the angle of giving questions is different).
