How to detect the quality of capacitor with multimeter
The first method: pointer multimeter measurement.

1. Set the multimeter in ohm range;

2. Select the gear according to the capacitance: for the capacitance below 10pF, the gear of multimeter R× 10k is optional; Capacitance 10F~0.0 1μF, optional multimeter r×1k;

3. Use the red probe of the multimeter to correspond to the negative electrode of the capacitor and the black probe to correspond to the positive electrode of the capacitor, and judge whether the capacitor is normal or not through the change of the pointer.

In general, if the multimeter pointer tilts to a certain value to the right and then returns to the leftmost infinity, the capacitor is in good condition; The capacitance of the capacitor can also be estimated according to the swing amplitude of the pointer: the larger the capacitor, the longer the charging time and the larger/slower the swing amplitude of the pointer.

If the pointer of the multimeter swings to the right all the time, even to the position of "0", it means that the capacitor is damaged or has been broken down by leakage.

The second method: measure with a digital multimeter.

I. Measurement of nonpolar capacitance

1. If the capacitor is nonpolar, set the multimeter at the "diode" position and measure the on-off ratio;

2. The multimeter shows that "1" is normal; If the multimeter shows "0" or other numbers, the capacitor is damaged.

Two. Measurement of polar capacitance

1. For polar electrolytic capacitors, the shell appears "bulging", "deformation" or "liquid leakage", which can directly judge the capacitor damage;

2. The capacitance file of digital multimeter can also be used to measure the quality of capacitance:

(1) According to the rated capacitance marked on the capacitor, hit the multimeter to the appropriate range;

(2) Insert the capacitor into the capacitor hole of the multimeter and measure the capacity of the capacitor.

If the capacitance is within the rated value, the capacitance is in good condition; Otherwise, the capacitor will be damaged.

Third, measure the resistance with a digital multimeter.

1. In general, the capacitance below 1μF should be blocked by multimeter R× 10k; 1μf~ 100μf capacitor with multimeter R×2k block; Use multimeter R×200 to detect the capacitance greater than 100μF;

2. Connect the probe to the two poles of the capacitor, and judge the quality of the capacitor according to the reading and change of the multimeter (the principle is the same as that of pointer multimeter). /622762 d0f 7039 18f 229395925 E3 d 269759 EEC 42 c? x-BCE-process = image % 2f resize % 2Cm _ lfit % 2Cw _ 600% 2Ch _ 800% 2c limit _ 1% 2f quality % 2Cq _ 85% 2f format % 2Cf _ auto
