Zhu Jingwu was nominated for the Nobel Prize, but he didn't win it in the end.
Extended data:
1987 65438+1October, the research team led by Zhu Jingwu successfully discovered a new superconducting material of 93K(- 180℃), which exceeded the temperature of liquid nitrogen for the first time, and opened a new era of high-temperature superconducting research and application. In the subsequent experiments, new materials were continuously discovered and the superconducting transition temperature record was refreshed. The superconducting transition temperature was raised to164k (-109 C) in 1993. In 2000, Zhu Jingwu was invited by the White House to participate in "Great Inventions of the 20th Century: Time Toolkit for the New Era", and was selected as one of the most influential gas and electricity figures in this century 100 by Century Dynamics.
