The Institute of Mathematics of China University of Science and Technology was established on 1978 with the approval of China Academy of Sciences. It is an open research institution that studies mathematics. In order to improve the overall level of mathematics research in our school and stabilize a high-level research team. 1. Provide a good research environment and place for mathematicians in our school, and actively attract scholars and postdocs from outside the school to visit or work in our school.

2. Organize a series of academic activity years and daily academic activities with clear themes and involving the frontier fields of mathematics (especially the cross direction in mathematics).

3. Responsible for the scientific research management of mathematics postdoctoral students in our school, and assist the Department of Mathematics in postgraduate training.

4. Organize academic exchanges and activities at home and abroad. Responsible for the publication and exchange of preprints of mathematical research papers. The staffing of the Institute of Mathematics is tentatively set at eighteen (excluding postdoctoral fellows), with two full-time managers. The personnel entering the institute are not fixed. Select people according to the academic topics determined in that year.
