Bai won the silver prize in the 35th national mathematics competition for middle school students, and got full marks in the strong foundation project. He has signed a contract with the University of Science and Technology of China.

The National Middle School Students' Mathematics League is a national middle school students' league held since 2009. The competition is divided into preliminary and semi-final. About 90 students who have achieved excellent results in this competition are eligible to participate in the "China Mathematical Olympics (CMO) and the National Mathematics Winter Camp for Middle School Students" hosted by chinese mathematical society (every year 1 month). Winners can automatically get the qualification of walking in key universities. The top six first prize winners (10 in some provinces and no less than 3 in western provinces) can participate in the China Mathematical Olympics and get the opportunity to enter the national training team.
