In 2005, the University Physics Experiment Center was awarded the title of Hunan Demonstration Laboratory and listed. The demonstration laboratory was reopened after adding updated experimental equipment, which was welcomed by students. These laboratories have become the highlight of undergraduate teaching in our department.

Under the guidance of the idea of "strengthening infrastructure, maintaining the advantages of science, promoting the combination of science and engineering, and entering the first-class ranks", the discipline construction has developed rapidly, the construction of teachers has achieved remarkable results, undergraduate education has shown its characteristics, and scientific research achievements have been outstanding. After years of construction, our department has gradually formed a multi-level and multi-directional teaching and scientific research academic group with basic theoretical research, applied research and engineering technology research.
