My name is Huang Ou. I am a senior undergraduate in Peking University Institute of Technology. I was a very ordinary student in junior high school. Later, my learning attitude changed greatly. Relying on a set of learning methods summarized by myself and through my own efforts, I finally succeeded in entering the top ten in the province and Peking University. At Peking University, I failed the mid-term exam for the first time. Later, through my own efforts, I finally became the top three in Peking University. I want to share with you my growth process over the years, especially in junior high school and freshman year. Those two turning points changed my life, what I experienced and what changed my attitude greatly. Finally, share some ideas about choosing a job after graduation, as well as the learning methods and strategies faced by the college entrance examination.
How did I get into Peking University?
I come from a remote and backward mountain county in Chongqing, and my economic level and education level are far behind the main city. In the senior high school entrance examination, I was admitted to a second-rate middle school in a county. I am the first in my class, but I am in more than ten grades. This achievement is not ranked in the counties and cities. I have been leading a life of joking and fighting, eating and sleeping.
In the second day of junior high school, we changed our head teacher. One day by chance, the teacher talked about life planning. He said that the country's economic construction is carried out in accordance with the five-year plan, and life actually needs a five-year plan.
In the second day of junior high school, five years later, I will be a college student. Have you ever thought about which high school you will go to and which university you will go to? Now close your eyes and imagine what kind of classroom you will be sitting in five years. In five years, you should be working. Imagine what kind of place you were sitting and working, and what were you doing? At that time, you got married, bought a car and had a house? In five years, you should have children, and your career has already achieved something. Can you imagine your life then? What you are thinking, if you can make it clear, is probably your present situation at that time in the future.
Some people always say that change takes time, and I believe in epiphany. Just then, I woke up.
My actions and decisions will determine my future life. I firmly believe the teacher's words, and I can imagine what my future life will be like, so I can make it look like. So I secretly swear in my heart, I said, five years later, I will sit in the classroom of Tsinghua Peking University and attend classes in the top schools in China.
My goal is clear, which requires unremitting efforts in strategic planning and tactics. Another point is to have the concept of time. At some point, there are some goals that must be achieved. I began to carefully make the counseling materials I bought, read the summary above and began to brush the questions. After class, I'm always the first to rush out for dinner, and then I'm always the first to rush back, but instead of telling hip-hop jokes in the hallway, I try to read books and brush questions.
In this way, a month later, I got the third place in the monthly exam, which is my best score ever.
Although I was a sophomore in the senior high school entrance examination, there were only a dozen students in high school. At that time, I had the concept of the city-wide competition, so I knew that I was probably in a position far from my dream. The college entrance examination is a realistic thing, don't deceive yourself.
At that time, no one in our school was admitted to Peking University Tsinghua for several years. People should have a clear judgment on the gap between themselves and their goals. I got the first place in my grade, and I have to be in front of the second place before I can pass the exam smoothly.
With the same strength as junior high school, I started the sprint of junior high school. In the first month, I raced against time to eat in the canteen, and the eating speed was the first in my class. Now I am still in our department, which was a habit formed at that time. Look for one thing and do it so seriously. Reading, doing homework, brushing counseling materials, I got the sixth place in the first month and the first place in the second month. I was very calm that day, maybe I did it before I found out. Even if there is a gap, I have made up for it through hard work.
Of course, the next monthly exam failed to hold the first place, because I knew that the foundation was not solid enough and I worked harder every month. In Grade Two, I can be number one for many times, and in Grade Three, I have basically been number one in my grade.
Many parents may think that students in Peking University have high IQ. There are only a dozen people admitted to Peking University in our province a year, but after contact, most of them are not such talents. Many people understand that hard work is very important, but understanding and doing it is another matter.
To adapt to college life.
From high school to college, due to the rapid changes in the environment, there will be an adaptation period, which is earlier than the live high's world in college life. If you adapt slowly or poorly, you will waste a lot of time.
Therefore, it is particularly important for parents to guide their children in all aspects before entering the university.
At that time, when choosing a major, I just looked at the introductions of various majors and made a decision. At that time, the first course was mathematical analysis, and the difficulty of advanced mathematics we attended was second only to that of mathematics college. It was quite new when I first started studying, but I only got 56 points in the mid-term exam, which was the first time in my life that I failed.
At that time, our math teacher was Mr. Huang, known as Mr. Huang. He does well in class and likes to hang up. He hung up for nearly half the time. However, when Mr. Huang came to talk about it, he understated it. The mid-term exam is very simple. I think everyone got full marks. I was confused and my mind was blank. It's the first time to find that there are so many awesome people in the university. Later, the exam results of other subjects came out, and everyone was close to full marks, and everyone insulted you. There are many students walking in the competition in the hospital, and they have already studied sophomore courses in high school. For the first time, I knew that the outside world was like this.
The first semester of freshman is very melancholy, and I want to brush the questions, but there is always a big gap, and the more difficult it is. After a semester in a daze, I fell behind 60% in the final exam, which was a blow to me. At that time, I really wanted to transfer to the Academy of Social Sciences, but I finally stayed. When I was confused and helpless, something happened by accident that changed my college life. At that time, I met my brother from the School of Philosophy. At that time, my brother was a senior and liked riding a bike very much. He once rode the Sichuan-Tibet line, so he took me to ride a bike.
I rode the Yunnan-Tibet line once in the summer vacation of my freshman year. I signed a safety agreement when I set out, and I didn't let my family know. We are a team of 8 people, with reserves in materials, technology and medical care. It is well divided. Senior brother is the team leader and is responsible for the overall progress coordination. On the first day out of Lijiang, we climbed over two mountains, and then went down more than ten kilometers to the Jinsha River. All the way to the plateau scenery, passing through Shangri-La, Baima Snow Mountain, Yanjing, Ranwu Lake, Bomi and Linzhi; Crossing Jinsha River, Nujiang River, Lancang River and Yarlung Zangbo River; After experiencing the beautiful scenery of Hengduan Mountain, the vast grassland of Qinghai-Tibet Plateau and the magnificent snow-capped mountains and glaciers, I finally arrived in Lhasa. After riding for more than 20 days, I rode 1600km back and forth. I experienced many difficulties on the road, which also made me forget my troubles at school.
Riding in Tibetan areas is a long way uphill. Generally, every time you go uphill, the altitude is nearly 1000 meters. The longest uphill is in Hongla Snow Mountain. It takes 6 hours to climb 36 kilometers uphill, and the altitude is 1800.
When I first started riding uphill, my brother told us that it was good to use the low gear of 2x2, which was easy when the speed was slow, but I tried it slowly and changed to the gear of 2x4, which was much faster and a little tired, but after riding for a few days, I found that it was always at the end of the queue. When I climbed the 36-kilometer uphill, I had to shift to a low gear and ride slowly. Miraculously, I rode to the top of the mountain on time. I'm not tired. In the next few days, I lowered the gear appropriately and found myself slowly coming to the front of the team, confused. Then I realized that sometimes, if you are anxious, you may be slow. This is haste makes waste.
The road of life is like this uphill. It's a long road. You can't walk without hard work. But if you rush it, it may be counterproductive. I began to study methodically, and the course was still difficult, but I was no longer flustered. The results also improved slowly, and finally the research went smoothly. At the same time, I also did a lot of student work in my spare time, participated in entrepreneurial projects, and didn't leave behind when I went out to ride a bike.
So I want to tell high school students that you have to go through such an adaptation process when you go to college in the future. The example I gave may be a bit extreme and cannot be repeated. But what I have learned is still worth sharing.
Things to consider during graduation.
Everyone's understanding of work is very different. If you know what you want to do in the future, work hard in this direction. A classmate once said that he wanted to be a leader, be an official, guide the country and make contributions in the future, but when he really entered the civil service industry, he found that all he did was to serve tea and run errands and handle interpersonal relationships carefully, which was far from the feelings of saving the world. Before going to college, most people had vague expectations about their future jobs, so they chose their major, but when they really come in, they may find that this is not the case. Just as the School of Economics doesn't teach you how to make money, the Chinese Department doesn't teach you how to do literature and art, and the Institute of Technology doesn't teach you how to do engineering.
There are several ways to graduate: going abroad, studying and working. There are not many undergraduates in our institute of technology. One third of them will go to our institute for research, one third will go abroad, and some will be sent to other brother universities.
If you have a master's degree, you will basically not be engaged in this major. Most of them will go to companies, state-owned enterprises or private enterprises, as well as foreign companies, and some will go to the civil service industry. Doctors may be better. There are still many people in the field of mechanics who continue to engage in scientific research. For example, in my energy field, 1/3 doctors will go to the civil service industry, 1/3 doctors will go to enterprises, and the rest will go abroad to study for postdoctoral positions or engage in research work in scientific research institutes.
There are generally several ways to go abroad: first, in order to gain foreign research experience, which is still very important; second, there are many people who want to settle down and work abroad or come back to work in foreign companies and multinational enterprises; There are other purposes, such as simply experiencing a complete foreign culture. However, I am personally determined to develop in China in the future, and there is a great temptation to go abroad. But I need to stay in China to expand my contacts and understand the latest employment and work situation in China, so I choose to apply for graduate students.
This year, our level of insurance research is also the most stressful in these sessions. Many of our classmates have chosen jobs. At present, there are mainly three lines of work in China. The most traditional one is to go to state-owned enterprises, governments or research institutes, and the other line is to go to private enterprises, especially the Internet industry and the financial industry. There are more people going, and the treatment is much higher, but the competition is also much greater. Another one is entrepreneurship. Initially, entrepreneurship was always a choice. These two years have been heated up, and the state has begun to intervene.
I know many senior brothers and have been to some large state-owned enterprises or governments, complaining that the welfare is not as good as before. However, even students from Tsinghua Peking University want to get better jobs in these state-owned enterprises, and the competition is fierce. There is also the civil service industry. At present, the main way for the civil service industry to enter is the traditional national examination and selection. Of course, song selection is only available in some schools.
Government departments. Students' work experience is essential. Need to have certain qualifications. The selection of general provincial departments, such as the General Office of the Provincial Party Committee and the Organization Department of the Provincial Party Committee, is basically the place where the presidents of the Student Union, the Research Association and the Youth League Committee are concentrated. If the central government chooses to transfer, it may need to go further to be reliable, such as the chairman and vice chairman of the school Committee and the deputy secretary of the student union. Of course, outstanding social experience or award-winning experience can also be added points, such as challenge cup project and entrepreneurial project, which are not only achievements, but also need to have enough experience in at least one field to effectively enter the core competition.
Private enterprises. Now, of course, the financial industry has the highest salary. But Guanghua is not necessarily the only one who specializes in this field. In theory, most majors have the opportunity to go, but it is not easy to minor in related knowledge, which needs textual research. But this year, an undergraduate student in our class directly took Citigroup's offer, took a pair and participated in a competition, which was recognized. He was directly signed by Citigroup with an annual salary of 500,000. Traditional banks, investment banks and brokerages are generally well treated. There are also many people who go to internet companies. Generally speaking, it is advantageous to have industrial research experience, award-winning experience in scientific research or entrepreneurial projects, and internship experience. If you have it all, you can make a very good resume, so the choice will be much wider.
My advice is to take time to try more things after entering the university. University is the last place where we can spend time preparing ourselves before we enter the society. Generally speaking, there are many things we can and need to do.
How to do well in the college entrance examination?
My understanding of learning methods is that there is no shortcut to success. If there is a shortcut, it is to keep trying.
Everyone has his own study habits. When you can adjust your study habits to the most suitable continuous learning intensity, you will find a suitable learning method. The essence of learning method is to force yourself to keep learning. The college entrance examination has been reformed recently, and it is said that there will be no separation of arts and sciences in the future. However, the system of the college entrance examination has not changed, and the questioner has not changed, so the coping style is the same, and they are all exam-oriented education. High school knowledge is the basic knowledge of the world, and the test is proficiency.
So specifically, the college entrance examination.
The first is Chinese, which is divided into several parts, such as basic questions such as pronunciation, glyphs and sick sentences, as well as ancient Chinese and reading questions. Finally, a little language expression, followed by composition, the provinces may be different, generally the same. As for the Chinese paper, if you have all the knowledge, it is certainly not difficult to do it. For topics other than composition, some things are strikingly similar, that is, taking those things and taking them back and forth. I found this when I was brushing questions in senior three. After doing a lot of questions, I will find that different questions always appear back and forth. Especially the reading questions, the answers are similar.
Composition questions mainly depend on the accumulation of materials. Usually, read like a scholar. Although it is only a chicken soup magazine, many of the above materials are suitable for writing college entrance examination compositions. It is not difficult to practice in a targeted way. If there are only two mistakes in the multiple-choice question, then the following ancient Chinese reading questions, 1 10- 120 or more, are not difficult to lose points.
Mathematics, the most important thing is to understand the knowledge points and what to test. For example, the establishment of geometric relations in geometric testing, functional testing requires you to find the equivalent relationship and solve it. Practice one question for each question type, and then look at the answers to similar questions. The last question of multiple-choice questions, the last question of fill-in-the-blank questions and the last question of calculation questions are all difficult. I asked myself to practice the difficulty of the last question of multiple-choice questions and fill-in-the-blank questions. I only need to make a mistake in these two questions and deduct 5 points. I can only work out the first question of the last question, but the second part is definitely endless, 7 points. Even so, there is still 138, which is not very procrastinating. As a result, the last 6 points were deducted from the college entrance examination, and I got 144.
English is probably the simplest, so I suggest you follow Li Yang's crazy English study directly. Rough but practical, after all, the college entrance examination is about grades. Whether Li Yang likes fooling around and his attitude towards life. You can ignore him until after the exam. Crazy English learning is very effective. Brush vocabulary, listening and reading at a crazy speed, and you will find yourself making rapid progress. Often a semester can be effective and the results are stable. If parents and schoolmates don't find their own English methods, they can buy a set of crazy English books and then execute them. This method is brainless, but simple and effective.
And a therapist. We are physical, chemical and biological. If you want to do well in the comprehensive examination, you can't make mistakes in multiple-choice questions. If you make at most one mistake, it will be difficult to do well in the exam. 6 points for a question, very painful. Don't panic in the face of comprehensive management. Reasonable allocation of time is the most important. Sometimes multiple-choice questions get stuck. Don't panic. Give yourself a time limit, then finish the following questions and come back when you are free. All three subjects need to be brushed properly, but each subject takes less time than mathematics.
Physics problems have routines and formulas are qualitative, so remember the formulas, understand the test sites, and then decompose the process better, and don't let go of the details. You can't go wrong if you're not careless. After mastering the basic knowledge of chemistry, we should be good at series connection, especially the big questions behind. It takes a lot of thinking to guess the reaction process. Not only should you remember the reactions and test sites you have learned, but you may also have reactions you have never seen before. It would be better if you are well informed, which requires most of the brush questions. If we look at the popularity of universities, it's not bad to supplement them roughly. Generally speaking, biology is not difficult, and there are many conceptual problems. Most of the questions are packaged and then used for exams. After all, it doesn't need much calculation, and the difficulty is relatively low. Recite and do the questions. Remember to be comprehensive and there will be no big problems. I'm not a liberal arts major, so I won't give any advice in the literature review. But on the whole, it is useful to know a little about current affairs and politics.
The most important thing is self-awakening, persistence and mentality.
I am a student myself, and I know the mentality of students very well. But it is also the most difficult to realize self-awakening. Just like my junior high school, if it weren't for the words of the class teacher, I might not have changed qualitatively. But my other classmates just listened to his words, which may go in one ear and out the other. When you realize that my life can't just pass, you wake up and naturally it's different. Therefore, what parents can do is probably to help their children realize the awakening of self-awareness, but this kind of thing can only be done as best as possible and cannot be forced.
I also have relatives in junior high school and high school in my own family, and most of them have not walked out of that primitive self-state. People have different personalities and are good at different things, and they will mature sooner or later, but high school is only three years. If you are lucky enough to have a firm goal before this time period and can stick to it, then the college entrance examination is not difficult.
Only by working hard can we study hard.
There is persistence, and many generations have praised it, but not much can be done. This is the phenomenon of "beginning without end". The last one is the mentality, not anxious or dry, eager but not impetuous. After three years in high school, it will not happen overnight. Remember to be impetuous. Calm down and study hard.
There are no shortcuts in life. Life is a long road. Stick to it and don't give up. Life, on the road.
