Why are mathematicians always despised by physicists and think that physicists are more important than mathematicians?
I think it may be because physicists are good at mathematics, and people who are not good at mathematics can't go deep into physics. Einstein once encountered a bottleneck because of mathematical problems. Then physicists can use mathematics to explain things about nature and the universe. As far as mathematicians know, so do they, so they think that mathematicians only study some technical laws, and they are the ones who really apply these laws to reality. There is also a Nobel Prize without a math prize, which may also make physicists feel that mathematics is superior. In fact, without the contribution of mathematicians, there would be no modern physics and other modern sciences today. Mathematics is a basic subject. Perhaps it is because of its foundation that physicists who build buildings on it despise it.
