The American Mathematical Competition (AMC) is sponsored by the American Mathematical Association, including AMC 8, AMC 10, AMC 12, AIME and US(J)AMO. Every year, AMC selects the American national team for the International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO).
AMC8 is held every June165438+1October, mainly for junior high school and senior primary school students below grade 8; AMC 10/ 12 is held every February, mainly for senior high school students below 10 (Grade One) and 12 (Grade Three).
Extended data
The AMC American Mathematical Competition was founded by the American Mathematical Association at 1950. Problems range from simple to difficult, so that students at any level can feel the challenge and screen out people with unique talents. This competition is developed for all students who love mathematics.
There are more than 20 countries and regions such as Canada, Singapore, Japan, Hungary, Greece, Turkey and France. This test has been recommended by American middle school principals as one of the main activities every year. Over the years, AMC has also played an important role in training athletes for the United States to participate in the World Mathematical Olympiad (IMO).
Through a series of tests, such as AMC8, AMC 10, AMC 12, AIME and so on, AMC researchers find out outstanding students to participate in the American Mathematical Olympiad (USAMO), and then select 24 to 30 elites from dozens of American states to participate in the Mathematical Olympiad Summer Camp (MOSP). Then in the summer camp, six players were selected to participate in IMO through the test.
