How many times does a number multiply this number? Therefore, if "2 times 3 equals 6" is expressed in English, it means "2 times 3 equals 6". In English, multiplication and multiplication are one word. In Chinese, these are two words. This is the power of English language system in mathematics, which is the most direct, concise and understandable.
Looking at division again, the Chinese word "divide" is also a difficult word to understand. What is "points"? It's hard to see why just by looking at the word. But when I read English, my thoughts suddenly became clear. For example, 9 divided by 3 equals 3, which means "9 divided by 3 equals 3" in English. Isn't this division a concept of "division"? So "divide by" expresses the concept of "divide by whom" very intuitively, so it is easy to understand the concept of division.
In addition, I read dy and dx of power function and calculus, and I can guess the related meaning literally. What a powerful language expression! If children learn math, it is suggested that they read more math English, which will help them better understand math concepts. I am afraid this will reduce the troubles of many children.
