“3+X”? Applicable areas: most provinces and cities

"3" means "Chinese, Mathematics and Foreign Languages", and "X" means that students can choose one of the two comprehensive subjects of liberal arts (ideology, politics, history and geography) and science (physics, chemistry and biology) as examination subjects according to their own wishes. This scheme is the most widely used and mature college entrance examination scheme in China. The total score is 750 (language 150, mathematics 150, foreign language 150, liberal arts/science 300).
