Average Grade Point Average (GPA) is a calculation unit to measure the quantity and quality of students' learning. Obtaining certain credits and GPA is the standard for graduation and degree, and various educational specifications and flexible teaching management systems are implemented.
Second, the algorithm:
The weighted average of college grades is multiplied by 4 and divided by 100. The more common method is to multiply the scores of various subjects by the credits and then divide them by the total credits.
Algorithm example
For example, the credits and grades of a student in five courses are: four credits in one course, with a grade of 92 (a); Three credits for Course B, 80 points (b); Two credits for Course C, 98 points (a); Six credits in course D, 70 points (c); E course has three credits, with 89 points (b). The GPA of the above five items is: quadratic algorithm: GPA = (4 * 4+3 * 3+2 * 4+6 * 2+3 * 3)/(4+3+2+6+3) = 3.00 standard algorithm GPA = [(92 * 4+80 * 3+98 * 2].
In practice, American universities often use the total GPA and the average GPA in the last two years.
Question 2: What do you mean by college grades and credits? Every course in the university has certain credits. Only by passing the exam of this course can you get the corresponding credits. You can't graduate until the credits have accumulated to the professional requirements. If you complete the required courses and credits ahead of time, you can also graduate ahead of time. The credit system is a more flexible and flexible academic system, which creates more flexibility for students during their stay in school, including applying for suspension from school and starting a business within a period of time, and encouraging students with spare capacity to graduate ahead of schedule, minor in other majors and pursue other degrees.
Some universities require students to complete the minimum academic performance of compulsory courses and elective courses specified in the professional teaching plan during their stay in school, and they must complete it every semester. If they don't, they will get a performance warning. The general calculation method of minimum credits per semester is:
Minimum credits per semester = total credits /2× (standard academic system +2)
At the same time, the credits of each semester shall generally not exceed the maximum credits stipulated in the professional teaching plan. If there is over-election after examination and approval, the over-election fee will be charged according to relevant regulations. The general calculation method of the highest credit per semester is:
Maximum credit per semester = total credit /2× (standard academic system-1)
3 calculation method
The calculation of GPA is to multiply the GPA of each course (including repeated courses) taken by students by the credits of the course, and then divide it by the accumulated total credits. The GPA can be used as one of the comprehensive evaluation indexes of students' learning ability and quality. It can be easily linked with American GPA system. China undergraduates who want to study abroad should take it seriously.
The calculation methods commonly used in most universities in China are:
Grade point = score/10-5,
Credit grade point = credit x grade point = credit x (score/10-5)
Average GPA = (course credit 1 * GPA+ course credit 2* GPA+...+ course credit n* GPA)/ (
Course credit 1+ course credit 2+...+ course credit n)
GPA=∑ course credits ∑ course credits
Course credit grade point of each subject = course credit × course weight coefficient × course grade point.
Course weight coefficient:
1.2 (main required courses: mathematics, physics, foreign languages and other required courses. )
1. 1 (other required courses)
1.0 (optional course)
The full mark of the course grade point is 5.0, and the grading method is 100 to 60, which decreases every 5 points (***8). 60 points corresponds to 1.7 GPA. Similar to Peking University.
The two-point system is calculated by passing (3.5) and failing (0).
Standard calculation method
Is to multiply the weighted average of college grades by 4 and then divide by 100.
The GPA of the above five items is: quartering GPA = (4 * 4+3 * 3+2 * 4+6 * 2+3 * 3)/(4+3+2+6+3) = 3.00 Standard algorithm GPA = [(92 * 4+80 * 3+98 * 2+].
Question: What is GPA? GPA is an internationally accepted system for evaluating students' academic performance. On June 3rd, Peking University Academic Affairs Office decided that all the courses taken by students above grade 2002 should be calculated according to GPA (students before grade 2002 should still follow the rules formulated by each department), and the GPA of students' scores should be automatically calculated by computer and included in the report card. The Academic Affairs Office has written this mechanism into the Detailed Rules for the Management of College Students' Student Status.
Our school began to use GPA to measure students' learning quality in 2004, and this method has been gradually understood and accepted by everyone in recent years. The criteria and methods for conversion of average credits are as follows:
The conversion of scores and points is as follows:
90- 100 integral = 4.0;
85-89 points = 3.7;
82-84 points = 3.3;
78-8 1 = 3.0;
75-77 points = 2.7;
72-74 points = 2.3;
68-7 1 = 2.0;
64-67 points =1.5;
60-63 points =1.0;
Under 60 =0.
If you take three courses in one semester, you will get 3 credits (4 points) for English, 3 credits (2 points) for history and 3 credits (3 points) for physics. Then GPA is (4×3+3×2+3×3)÷(3+3+3)=3. Then the average grade point of this student this semester is 3, and the college standard is generally above 2.
In order to make GPA accurately evaluate students' learning situation, the Academic Affairs Office also stipulates that all courses roughly conform to the normal distribution, and once again emphasizes that the excellent rate (above 85 points) should not exceed 20% in principle, and the unqualified rate (below 60 points) is 1%- 10%. Before entering grades, the academic staff of each department should check the distribution of grades. If they deviate too far, they should submit their scores to the dean/director in charge of teaching in the department and ask the teachers to fine-tune the scores. In addition, as a compulsory course for all students, the scores of general elective courses and public elective courses should be more in line with the distribution given by the school, which is particularly important for the fairness of GPA evaluation.
Question 4: What is the grade point? The higher GPA, the better? Every course in the university has certain credits. Only by passing the exam of this course can you get the corresponding credits. You can't graduate until the credits have accumulated to the professional requirements. If you complete the required courses and credits ahead of time, you can also graduate ahead of time. Credits mainly indicate the quantity of students' learning, and grade points indicate the quality of students' learning.
1. What is the corresponding relationship between test scores and grade points?
The grade corresponds to GPA.
95- 100 4.5
90-94 4
85-89 3.5
80-84 3
75-79 2.5 70-74 2
65-69 1.5
60-64 1
Under 60 years old
2. Calculation of credit score and average credit score?
(1) credit grade point of a course = grade point × academic performance?
(2) Average credit grade point = sum of credit grade points of courses studied ÷ sum of credits of courses studied?
(3) Courses that fail the exam, make-up exam or pass the second interview will be given credits, but their grade point is zero. The GPA can be used as the basis for students to evaluate scholarships. Hee hee, come on, I'm a sophomore and I'm your senior. Do well in the exam, and you will get a scholarship if you get the results.
Question 5: how to calculate the average grade point is generally calculated like this.
Average credit grade point = ∑ (course credit × grade point)/∑ course credit = sum of all course credit grade points/sum of all course academic achievements.
Question 6: What is the difference between GPA and credit GPA? What's the difference between taking a GPA, taking a credit GPA and taking a general credit GPA? Whether you pass the exam or not determines whether you can get credits, and the grade point depends on your exam results. In our school, the corresponding table between grade point and grade is-test scores correspond to grade points.
100 5
99~95 4.5
94~90 4
89~85 3.5
84~80 3
79~75 2.5
74~70 2
69~65 1.5
64~60 1
If you don't pass the exam, you won't get credit for this course, and your GPA will be 0, which is not good for your overall GPA! So how did you get your GPA? Give a simple example to illustrate-
English score 75, GPA 2.5 credits10; Ideological and political 90 grade point 4 credits 2, assuming that one * * is two courses, then the final grade point should be (2.5 *10+4 * 2)/12 = 2.75, and the average score can be as high as 82.5.
Please note here that "grade point" is related to your future scholarship evaluation, joining the party, undertaking research, studying abroad and so on. So please try to keep a high GPA, which is very helpful to you. In addition, if you have no plans for these in the future, please at least ensure that the "grade point" is not lower than 1.8, otherwise you will lose the right to apply for a bachelor's degree (that is, you only have a diploma after graduation, but no degree certificate).
Regarding "credits", please check the "teaching plan" issued by the teacher when you enter the school. It has a very detailed curriculum arrangement for each course of your major, and it will also clearly list the credits corresponding to each course; In school, as long as you pass the exam, you can get all the "credits" of this course, so you can only graduate if you complete all the credits, otherwise the school will give you a certificate, not a diploma! Therefore, if you want to graduate smoothly, you must not fail; If you fail carelessly, you must pass the make-up exam.
Finally, I would like to mention that if the accumulated (owed) credits due to the failure of the course reach 20 points, the counselor will call your parents to the school to have a good talk!
How to calculate the GPA? The GPA is 2.85.
Question 8: Average GPA 2. What does11mean? The average GPA is calculated by multiplying the scores of all subjects by the credits and dividing them by the total credits. Taking the percentage system as an example, 90 to 100 is A =4.0, 80 to 89 is B =3.0, 70 to 79 is C =2.0, 60 to 69 is D = 1.0, and below 60 is F =0. For example, a student's credits and grades in five courses are: A course 4 credits, grade 92(A), which should be scored 4*4= 16, B course 3 credits, grade 80(B), 3*3=9, C course 2 credits, grade 98(A), which should be scored 2 * 4. The above five grades GPA:
Question 9: The significance of the sum of GPA and GPA, and the level of each item. The GPA is the average GPA converted from grades, which is similar to the average GPA.
It's just that some disciplines account for a relatively large proportion.
High grade point weight.
This course will be very successful.
The sum of credits is to add up the converted credits.
-
The higher these two items, the better.
