The qualifications of senior middle school teachers and secondary vocational school teachers are universal.

The Notice of the Ministry of Education on Further Improving the Supplementary Work of Primary and Secondary School Teachers requires that holding the teacher qualification certificate corresponding to the teaching post is a necessary condition for teacher recruitment and job promotion. At present, some provinces require teachers to hold teacher qualification certificates consistent with their teaching positions according to the provisions of the documents.

The Regulations on Kindergarten Work requires kindergarten teachers to have the qualifications of kindergarten teachers stipulated in the Regulations on Teachers' Qualifications.
