The first class, Class 00, was officially called the experimental class of educational reform by the Chinese University of Science and Technology. On the basis of summing up and absorbing the successful experience of running a juvenile class well, an "experimental class of teaching reform" (referred to as experimental class, also known as zero class) is set up according to the model of juvenile class. The two types of students are managed by the juvenile class management Committee. In the training mode, the juvenile class takes "student-oriented" and "student-centered" as the guiding ideology. Drawing lessons from the advanced mode of international higher education, after more than 30 years of exploration and accumulation, a unique training mode has been formed: students lay the foundation first after entering school, and students in juvenile classes are not specialized for one to two years after entering school. First, concentrate on strengthening basic education such as mathematics, physics, English and computer, and the course content is close to the requirements of related majors. At the same time, it emphasizes the understanding of modern science and technology frontier and humanistic quality education. After one or two years, students will choose their own majors in the whole school according to their interests, ambitions and potentials. Personalized learning under the guidance of tutors, combined with target management and process management, can give full play to students' learning ability, encourage students to make their own personalized learning plans, take interdisciplinary course courses under the guidance of tutors, take courses in advance, and enter scientific research laboratories to carry out scientific research practice activities in advance. And it also allows students to adjust their learning process according to their own learning conditions and implement flexible learning.

Second, the science and technology talent class, officially speaking, concentrates the high-quality resources of schools and research institutes, explores a new mode of innovative talent training around the national strategic needs, and is committed to cultivating high-level top-notch talents in the field of science and engineering in the future 15-20 years. There are two classes in physics: Yan Jici Physical Science and Technology Talents Class and Applied Physical Science and Technology Talents Class.
