The school, formerly known as Shanghai Yuntai Middle School, has always been among the best in terms of education and teaching quality, excellent rate and qualified rate in Pudong New Area. The average score of all subjects in the senior high school entrance examination has been much higher than that in the district, especially English, mathematics and other subjects, and scientific and technological activities have achieved fruitful results. In all kinds of competitions at all levels, we can win prizes from several groups and dozens of countries, cities and districts every year.

In 2008, the school was renamed and Shanghai New Yuntai Middle School was established.

In 2009, the school moved from 3 12 Yuntai Road in the old campus to 320 Bohua Road in the new campus.

Up to now, the school has carried out characteristic courses of all-in-one infiltration with a number of secondary vocational and technical schools.
