Personally, I think so. I studied mathematics and applied mathematics in college. The mathematics I studied in college is not closely related to the previous ones. It doesn't mean that you can't apply for the exam if you are not good at math in the past. As long as you are interested, there is no problem. However, it should be reminded that the mathematics you studied in college is very abstract and difficult to understand.
