Ph.D. in Mathematics and Soil, China
From high school to May this year, she has always been a great person in my mind. When the average math score of the whole class was 50, her score was 100. In three years of high school, she only got a 99 in math once. The teacher also apologized to her for this and felt that the grading was a bit strict. Compared with mathematics, her physics is not her strong point, but she represented China in the Physics Olympiad. She walked directly into Tsinghua in her senior year, and then gave our second grade a chance. That year, he took the top prize in the province. Then during her stay in Tsinghua, she won the first prize every year, completed the five-year course in four years, and then easily got the OFFER from the top universities in the United States. This is the image of the cow in my mind before May 2003.

In May 2003, she had studied abroad for seven years and was about to get her doctorate. Talking about the ideal, she said that the competition of American good universities is too fierce to stay, and she hopes to teach in a third-rate university. The company has laid off a lot of staff, and the glass roof, she won't choose. I feel very sad when I listen to her words like this. This is the awesome person I have always respected. Now I'm going to be a small teacher in a third-rate university. She says it's not easy to do this, and she has to pay for the project herself.

Send her away. I think I need to redefine awesome people. I saw with my own eyes that it took only three years for Wang Changtian to go from a debt of several hundred thousand to a net worth of nearly 100 million. He was only 35 years old. My younger brother, who is less than 30 years old, has become the editor-in-chief of El Pais with a monthly salary of 60,000. Another classmate of mine has published seven or eight books in three years and was invited by Columbia University to be a visiting scholar. At that time, I never treated them like cattle. Then I thought, we got high GRE, high TOEFL and high GPA. What are we proud of? It's not just a coincidence. None of the awesome people I named recently passed CET-4, and none of them did well in college. Eriksson, president of Oracle Bone Inscriptions, also told Yale MBA graduates that you are all losers, and then named many entrepreneurs who didn't finish their studies, such as Bill Gates.

Let's think about it. Who are the majority of students who get high marks in China University? Most of them are obedient people and most of them are mediocre people. Many people often lack the ability to think independently and actively, and follow the rules of the school and the footsteps of teachers. The final destination is often stupid to enter an American university. Because they have high GPA, high T and G, independent thinking, creativity, courage to do things and interpersonal skills can't be measured by scores. Although it seems unfair, remember that it conforms to the rules of American universities. Americans don't come to China to choose talents to grab jobs, they just need obedient and working machines. Why should I write this down? I want to tell you that our GPA is very high and our GT is also very high. In fact, we are still far from being awesome. It is because of this that we entered American universities. Don't think it's because we are awesome.

The only real reason is that you meet the standards of American universities to recruit cheap and high-quality labor. Of course, there are differences between cows and cows, but remember: you are just a cow, not a cow. However, I still think going abroad is a good thing. Because I think the process of going abroad is the best way for students to effectively integrate their time and improve their ability. And there are many obvious benefits after going abroad (but just benefits can't guarantee that you will become a great person).

Studying GRE and going abroad should only be a means to improve one's ability, not the ultimate goal. As long as you improve your ability in this process, as long as your young years are not wasted, it doesn't matter if you fail to go abroad temporarily. Just like the fishermen's failure to go abroad, a blessing in disguise is a blessing in disguise. What's more, today's era of going abroad to change fate and turning black-bone chicken into phoenix has long passed. In short, your GRE score is not awesome, your OFFER is not awesome, your doctoral degree from the top universities in the United States is not awesome, you have found a software blue collar in the United States, and the work of a small teacher is not awesome. When will you become an awesome person? When you reach the age of 35, you feel like a great person. . . . . . .

I often hear people say who is a cow and who is a cow. In my heart, I am not convinced. I always feel that as long as I work hard in this respect, I can have such a so-called cow. Because I have never felt how awesome a person is, naturally there will be disrespectful words to a awesome person occasionally. So some people say I'm crazy, others say I'm bragging, and those with good relationships will euphemistically call me "confident". I often think: what is a cow? . Is a high GPA a cow? Can you find a big company after graduation? Why do I always feel something is wrong?

Sometimes I often ask myself, what is happiness? Will a cow represent happiness, or at least be happier than a cow? If a cow is unhappy, what do you do as a cow just to let others call you a cow? So are we here to pursue happiness? Or do you want to be an awesome person? Are you a cow while pursuing happiness, or are you happy because you are a cow?

In my understanding, happiness is nothing more than staying where you like, doing what you like, being with the people you like, loving the people you love and feeling the love of those who love you. Some people are confused about my choice to go abroad. Actually, it's not worth thinking about. I graduated with a master's degree, and if I go to the company, I can also get a quota. If I study PhD, I can find a cow tutor in China. If the tutor is a cow, there are many benefits (a powerful turtle may not get along with Dr. Tu in academia), and the road is smooth and comfortable. It goes without saying that after graduation, you should marry your girlfriend, have children, evaluate your professional titles and earn money to support your family. Without the pain of GT, don't worry about graduation. Life is like this, what else can a husband ask for?

However, I still chose GT, which is the fastest and biggest decision I have made in my life, for nothing but being young and doing what I want. As for whether cattle are cattle in the future, let's talk about it later! !
