After more than two years of hard work, the compilation and review of ideological and political, Chinese and history textbooks in ordinary senior high schools have all been completed. Since the fall semester of 20 19, it has been put into use in six provinces (cities) such as Beijing and Shanghai, and other provinces and cities have also promoted it according to the new college entrance examination and the actual situation of each province. All new textbooks will be used before 2022.

There are 5 sets of high school history textbooks, of which the compulsory textbooks are divided into two volumes: Outline of Chinese and Foreign History, and the elective compulsory textbooks are divided into three volumes: National System and Social Governance, Economic and Social Life and Cultural Exchange and Communication.

Zhang Haipeng, editor-in-chief of History Textbook for Ordinary Senior High Schools, former president of China Historical Society, member of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and researcher, introduced that the textbook presented the history of Chinese civilization for more than 5,000 years, covering the core ideas, traditional virtues and humanistic spirit contained in Chinese excellent traditional culture, involving more than one historical and cultural celebrity 100.

There are more than 80 works of thought, science and technology, literature and law, more than 50 major inventions such as four major inventions, astronomical calendars, medicine, mathematics, agriculture, geography and water conservancy projects, and more than 40 works of art such as calligraphy, painting, music and dance, sculpture and utensils, which guide students to form a sense of identity with Chinese culture and establish a correct cultural outlook.
