It seems that the United States has not spent enough money on secondary education. In the recent PiSA math test, the United States and Slovakia got roughly the same score (48 1 and 482 respectively), but the United States got this score by spending twice as much money per capita as Slovakia (1 15000 to 53000, according to purchasing power evaluation). The Czech Republic and China rank similar to the United States in more subjects, but the expenditure per student is only one third of their expenditure. Only Austria, Luxembourg, Norway and Switzerland spend a little more.
