Achievements in the Construction of Science College of Northwestern Polytechnical University
At present, there are more than 100 research projects in our institute. In recent years, the following achievements have been made:

Second prize of national natural science;

The second prize and the third prize of Shaanxi Science and Technology;

A third prize of national defense science and technology;

There are 2 first prizes and 2 second prizes for science and technology in colleges and universities in Shaanxi Province;

SCI collected 53 academic papers, EI collected 35 papers and granted 5 patents.

Held 28 academic lectures and invited 7 foreign scholars to give lectures.

In the past two years, the Institute has been awarded 15 scientific research projects at or above the provincial and ministerial levels; Eight authorized patents; Nearly 130 papers have been included in three international indexes, and nearly 300 papers have been published in first-class and important academic journals at home and abroad. In particular, the number of papers included in SCI, the first of the three indicators, ranked second in the whole school in 2003. The research group led by President Wei has made gratifying achievements in the research of the project "Research on Deep Subcooling and Rapid Crystal Growth of Liquid Metals", and won the second prize of the National Natural Science Award (one of the four national awards) in 2003, which achieved a zero breakthrough in this award and laid a solid foundation for the college to achieve the goal of "becoming a leading science college in the west, well-known in China and influential internationally in 5 5- 10-0".

Since the 11th Five-Year Plan, it has undertaken more than 50 scientific research projects/kloc-0, including "863" and "973" high-tech plans, National Natural Science Foundation, National "92 1 project", provincial and ministerial funds, international research cooperation and other scientific research projects 150. Scientific research funds are increasing year by year, and by 2006. The number of NSFC projects has greatly increased, with a total of 13 projects approved in 2008. Since the "Eleventh Five-Year Plan", * * has won 23 national and provincial science and technology awards, including the second prize of the National Natural Science Award (one of the four national awards) 1, achieving a zero breakthrough in this award, including the National Technological Invention Award 1, the National Defense Science and Technology Award 5, the Natural Science Award of the Ministry of Education 1 and the Shaanxi Science and Technology Award 60. Authorized more than 40 invention patents; 1400-odd papers have been included in three international indexes, and nearly 3,000 papers have been published in first-class and important academic journals at home and abroad. In particular, the number of papers collected by SCI is the first of the three indicators, ranking first in 2005 and second in 2004, 2006, 2007 and 2008. The papers published by the space materials team in PRL were specially commented by Nature and Science, and were funded by the Innovation Research Group of the National Natural Science Foundation. In 2007, he won the National "May 1st Labor Certificate and Medal". The paper published by Professor Zhao's intelligent materials team on Advanced Functional Materials in 2008, with an impact factor (IF) of 8.2, is the highest academic paper published by our school so far. The article published by Professor Zhao Jianlin's optical information technology team in 2008 is "Optics &; Photonics News is the first report of Chinese mainland scholars' research achievements.

Scientific research has its own system and distinctive features. First, it has formed the characteristics of applied mathematics research combined with national defense needs, and its research directions include computational mechanics, computational material science and complex fluid simulation, nonlinear stochastic dynamic system analysis, graphic image processing, applied probability statistics, theory and application of partial differential equations, graph theory and game theory, etc. Second, it has formed the characteristics of exploring the principles of natural science and carrying out high-level basic research. The research directions include "space material science", "intelligent material science", "material surface and interface physics" and "new technology of optical information acquisition and photoelectric hybrid processing". Third, it has formed the basic application and engineering research characteristics of new materials in the field of "Three Navigation". The research directions include structural/functional resin-based composites, high-performance engineering plastics and processing engineering, biomedical polymer materials, functional polymers, fine organic chemicals, environmental water treatment and so on. These characteristics have laid a solid foundation for the college to realize the grand goal of "building a scientific power" and the goal of building a high-level research-oriented science college.
