Guangzhou university's policy of changing majors.
Guangzhou University's policy of changing majors is as follows:

The general full-time students in our school must make unified planning by the Academic Affairs Office according to the teaching resources of the school and the principle of students' voluntary participation, and choose the best ones to change majors through public examinations. The number of students who change majors every year is generally controlled within 2%-3% of the total number of students in the same session of the hospital and department. Object and application conditions: the object of this regulation is the first and second year undergraduate students and the first year junior college students.

Under any of the following circumstances, you can apply for changing your major:

Students do have a certain specialty or have a strong interest in learning a certain subject (major), and changing majors is conducive to giving full play to their specialties and cultivating talents; Students who are found to have a certain disease or physical defect after entering school and cannot study in their original major, but can still study in other majors as certified by hospitals at or above the county level designated by the school; For some special reasons, students can't continue their studies without changing their major.

In any of the following circumstances, the application for major transfer will not be accepted:

Being punished by the school for violating discipline since entering school. One of the circumstances listed in Article 31 of Chapter 4 of the Regulations on the Administration of the Student Status of Full-time Students in Guangzhou University (Trial). Since I entered school, I have failed two or more compulsory courses in the first make-up exam.

specific/concrete plan

Students change their major once every academic year. The specific procedures are as follows:

1. Every year, two weeks before the winter vacation, each department provides the Academic Affairs Office with an acceptable number of students who change majors according to the teaching resources of the unit, and at the same time provides exams or exam subjects, generally no more than two. The academic affairs office will summarize the relevant information and announce it to all students.

According to my actual situation, students apply to change their major within one week after the school publishes relevant information. With the consent of our college and department, it will be reported to the Academic Affairs Office for examination and approval by the principal in charge.

3. During the winter vacation every year, the Academic Affairs Office organizes students to take the examination of changing majors (including written examination and interview). According to the results of students' professional examination (test) and interview, each transfer department selects the best candidates, reports them to the Academic Affairs Office for approval and announcement, and notifies the students themselves in writing.

4. After receiving the notice that the school has transferred to a major, each school or department should transfer the students' academic records and other archival materials to the school or department. The assessment methods for major conversion of the college shall be determined by the college itself, but the selection results shall be reported to the Academic Affairs Office for examination and approval, and the training fees for selected majors shall be paid according to these measures.

5. The students referred to in the second paragraph of Article 2 of these Provisions shall apply by themselves and provide relevant certificates. With the consent of the college, they shall be reported to the Academic Affairs Office for review and approved by the principal in charge.
