1. Historically, Guangdong Huaqiao Middle School was located in Guangzhou Yiqi Road, Yuexiu District, Guangzhou. It is the only complete middle school directly under Guangzhou Education Bureau. Established on 1930. Guangzhou Science City Middle School, located in the downtown area of New Huangpu, was founded in 1946 and is a completely public middle school. Guangdong Huaqiao Middle School has a longer history than Science City Middle School.

According to the characteristic courses, Guangdong Huaqiao Middle School is a national characteristic middle school, a national junior tennis characteristic school and a national aviation characteristic school, and it is one of the first batch of 22 high school independent enrollment schools in Guangzhou. The special courses such as oral English, math contest and physics experiment in Guangzhou Science City Middle School are not more distinctive than those in Guangdong Huaqiao Middle School.
