NEAT Band 3 test is based on the current junior high school English syllabus promulgated by the Ministry of Education, and takes junior high school students as the test objects, which comprehensively tests the English they have learned. The purpose of the test is to examine junior high school students' comprehensive ability to use English in listening, speaking, reading, writing and translation.
NEAT Band 3 exam not only gives a summative evaluation of students' English learning in the first stage, but also gives positive feedback and backwash to teachers' teaching situation, providing authoritative and valuable reference information for students to enter Grade One.
Compared with other forms of exams, NEAT has the following characteristics.
1. oral test: in order to increase the validity of the test, the cleanliness test added an oral test. Because the oral test procedure is particularly complicated, large-scale English tests generally do not organize oral tests. Oral test is an effective way to test candidates' oral expression ability. Therefore, neatness test should try to improve the validity of language test.
2. Examination procedure specification: The marking work is organized by examination offices all over the country. In order to ensure the fairness, impartiality and objectivity of marking, in addition to the normal marking operation procedures, special requirements are put forward for the subjective part of the written expression of the neat exam, that is, two reviewers independently mark a group of questions, and the average score of the two reviewers is the score obtained by the candidates in writing. The difference between the scores of the two judges shall not exceed the prescribed 20%, that is, 4 points. Otherwise, the third reviewer needs to make two judgments.
