Five small lighthouses divide the environment into different parts and overlap each other to produce different colors of light. Eliasson arranged it in the upper palace of the Winter Palace, and the magnificent colors blended with the luxurious architectural patterns and lines of the marble hall, resulting in an unparalleled aesthetic feeling. Are you curious about how the huge copper ring in the picture above hangs in the center of Nuoda Room? This is actually a kind of visual deception, which is the effect of mirror imaging. The wall on the left is a whole mirror. The five-meter semicircular copper ring on the wall forms a suspended complete circle through the mirror, which affects the normal definition of the space boundary by human eyes and makes people confused. This is a seven-meter-long hexagonal optical device, which consists of mirror plates inside, just like a kaleidoscope. Hanging from the ceiling of the hall also uses the reflection principle to decompose complex patterns and colors in the space into simple colors, brightness and other basic elements in the lens barrel. With the same kaleidoscope structure, this work emphasizes that everyone's perception and space are interdependent. When the audience opens along triangles, hexagons, diamonds and squares, the space changes from yellow to green and then to blue through the mapping of infinitely fragmented walls and floors. This work consists of crossed stainless steel tubes. Eliasson combined mathematics with baroque, and five groups of parallel lines were arranged at intervals according to the golden ratio, intersecting each other to produce angles of 108 degrees and 72 degrees.
