Who is the most famous student in Peking University?
Peking University alumnus Zhu Jianshi (Department of Mathematics, No.58) won the 4th Guanghua Engineering Science and Technology Award in 2002, while Fan Dianyuan (No.62) and Zhong Nanshan (Department of Medicine, No.60) won the 5th Guanghua Engineering Science and Technology Award in 2004. Guanghua Engineering Science and Technology Award, managed and undertaken by China Academy of Engineering, is the highest award of engineering science and technology in China. Previously, Peking University alumni Zhang Zonghu (48th session of Geology Department), Wang Shouyun (60th session of Mathematics Department) and Jin Guofan (50th session of Institute of Technology) won this honor.

Academician Jiang Boju, a professor at Peking University Institute of Mathematical Sciences (the 57th Department of Mathematical Mechanics), won the 5th China Mathematics Award in 2002. The winner of the 27th China Mathematics Prize in 2005 was Professor Jiang of Peking University (the 57th Department of Mathematical Mechanics). The Chinese Mathematics Award is jointly sponsored by chinese mathematical society and Hunan Education Publishing House to commemorate the famous mathematician Mr. Hua, and is used to reward and encourage China mathematicians who have made outstanding contributions to the development of mathematics in China. Among the mathematicians who have won prizes since 1992, five are from Peking University, ranking first in universities.

Gong Fuzhou, an alumnus of Peking University and a researcher at the Institute of Mathematics and Systems Science of China Academy of Sciences (1995 to 1997 engaged in postdoctoral research at the School of Mathematical Sciences), and Duan Haibao, a researcher who graduated from Peking University in 1987, won the 9th and 10th Chen Shengshen Mathematics Awards in 2003 and 2005 respectively. The prize aims to reward young and middle-aged mathematicians in China who have made outstanding achievements in the field of mathematics. Since 1986, among the 20 young and middle-aged mathematicians who have won this prize, there are 8 alumni of Peking University, ranking first among universities.

Tang Tao, an alumnus of the 84th computational mathematics major in Peking University and a chair professor in the Department of Mathematics of Hong Kong Baptist University, won the Feng Kang Prize for Scientific Computing in 2003. Feng Kang Award for Scientific Computing was established in 1995, aiming at rewarding young mathematicians from China at home and abroad who have made outstanding contributions in the field of scientific computing. The prize is awarded every two years with a bonus of 15000 yuan. Among the winners of 1 1 since its establishment, there are five alumni of Peking University, ranking first among universities in China.

Professor Peking University Ma (89th Doctor of Physics) won the 2002-2003 Zhou Peiyuan Prize in Physics. Peking University alumni, Xie (the 65th Department of Physics) and Wang Enge (the doctor of the 90th Department of Physics) from the Institute of Physics of Chinese Academy of Sciences won the Zhou Peiyuan Prize in Physics in 2000-200 1 and 2004-2005 respectively. So far, five of the six winners are graduates from Peking University. Professor Huang Yongnian, a graduate student of the Department of Mathematical Mechanics in the 63rd and 66th sessions of our school, won the third Zhou Peiyuan Prize in Mechanics in 2002, and was the third winner of the prize. The Zhou Peiyuan Prize in Physical Mechanics was established by the Zhou Peiyuan Foundation and selected every two years. Generally, choose one person or one project at a time.
