1622, British mathematician orcutt invented the world's earliest slide rule on the basis of Naipur's logarithmic calculation method. He carved the calculated logarithm on a sliding board, and through the sliding of the board, he could find the calculation result of the required logarithm.
This invention has made outstanding contributions to simplifying logarithmic calculation, given important enlightenment to the invention of new calculation tools, and promoted the development of calculation technology.
1592, Cheng Dawei, a mathematician in Ming Dynasty, compiled a book "Guiding Arithmetic to Unify Clans", which introduced abacus in detail. Because the abacus formula is easy to remember and operate, it is not only widely used in China, but also spread to Japan, North Korea, India, the United States and Southeast Asia, and is loved and welcomed by people in these countries.
Even today, with the popularization of electronic computers, abacus, an ancient computing tool invented by the people of China, is still full of unique youthful charm. The earliest calculation tool in the west is a kind of calculation called "Naipu Bone Slice".
It is similar to China's calculation in form, but the difference is that it is mainly used as a multiplication tool. The usage of this calculation tool is described in detail in the book "Two Books on Wand Research or Wand Calculation" published by Naipur in Edinburgh in 2007+06 17.
