What does modeling mean?
Modeling is to build a model, which is an abstraction to understand things and a clear written description of things. The process of building a system model is also called modeling. Modeling is an important means and premise to study the system. Any process in which a model is used to describe the causality or interrelation of a system belongs to modeling.

First of all, we must understand the essence of the problem, so as to simplify the system into a model and express various concepts with images, mathematical formulas or codes according to the research objectives. It is an important step to judge which core components must be preserved and which can be simplified. If all the details are included and the model is the same as the real world, then it is meaningless to use the model.

There are many existing model frameworks, which can be used in many research fields, such as game theory, epidemic SIR model, hydrodynamic formula, chemical reaction rate equation and so on. Many times, researchers can directly apply the old framework to study new problems. However, even if we study the same problem, different researchers may influence the judgment of modeling because of their own preferences and different understandings of the research object.

Various assumptions in modeling will limit the scope of application of the model. Only when the premise is correct can the model be guaranteed to be correct, and the progress of science often begins with replacing the old model with a model with a broader premise. For example, special relativity presupposes an inertial reference system, and general relativity further illustrates the significance of this premise.
