(1) When the original length of the rope is greater than 1 m and the cutting part of the second rope is greater than a quarter of a meter, the first rope has more surplus;
(2) When the original length of the rope is equal to 1 m, the cut part of the second rope is equal to a quarter of a meter, so the two ropes have the same amount left;
(3) When the original length of the rope is less than 1 m, and the cut part of the second rope is less than a quarter of a meter, the second rope remains more.
