The story of five scientists
1, Qian Xuesen, the father of missiles

There is another story. A missile launch test was about to begin, but the weather was very bad. Whether it can be launched, the commander, chief of staff and Qian Xuesen of the test base have different opinions. According to the regulations at that time, each launch report must be signed by three people, and then ask Marshal Nie Rongzhen for approval.

But at that time, the commander and chief of staff said that it could not be sent, but Qian Xuesen said with confidence that it could be launched, thus forming a situation of 2: 1, so he gave Nie Shuai the report signed by Qian Xuesen.

Unexpectedly, Nie Shuaishuang quickly approved the launch, and said that if there were only those two signatures without the signature of Dean Qian, I would not dare to approve them. Do you think this missile was successfully launched? As a result, the missile really succeeded this time.

2. The story of mathematician Sue.

September 23rd 1902 was an ordinary day, but it was a rare day for Su Zushan's family who fled from Tongan, Fujian to Daixi Village, Pingyang, Zhejiang. God knows, and God bless the people. Su Zushan's family added a ding, and the couple laughed from ear to ear, and finally had a "successor" who had been farming for generations.

But Su Zushan and his wife have never been to school, and they have suffered enough without education. They are eager for success, so they choose "Qing Bu" as their son's name. From then on, Sue wore a big bamboo hat made by her father and coarse cloth sewn by her mother, and rode barefoot on the back of the cow. With a wave of his whip, he came to the foot of Woniu Mountain and took the stream.

Sue's family is a big buffalo, fat and strong, and never takes the short cowherd seriously. Once, when the buffalo got angry, it ran and jumped, throwing Sue into a newly cut bamboo garden. Blessed by God, he fell into several bamboo roots and survived.

When herding cattle home, Sue walked through the gate of the village private school and was often attracted by the sound of books. Once, the teacher was reading aloud: "Sue, at the age of 27, began to read books on fire." After listening, he read it several times. From then on, he remembered the jingle and sang in the mountains when herding cattle.

Su Zushan often listens to his son recite three-character classics and hundreds of surnames, which is puzzling. Once, I happened to see my son "eavesdropping" at the gate of a private school. Father's heart finally moved. As soon as the couple got together, they decided to tighten their belts and send Sue to a private school.

3. Marconi, the father of radio

Marconi was born in a wealthy family in Italy. He likes reading and doing experiments since he was a child. He equipped himself with a small laboratory, doing chemical experiments first and then electrical experiments. He saw that it was very laborious for wired telegrams to set up lines, and he thought: Can electromagnetic waves be used to transmit telegrams? From 65438 to 0895, 20-year-old Marconi successfully conducted radio wave transmission experiments in his garden.

The scale of the experiment is gradually expanding. In order to find the source of funds, Marconi, 22, came to Britain to continue his research with the support of the British government. 1897, he and his assistant conducted a cross-sea communication experiment on the British coast. They installed the transmitter in a small house by the sea. Outside the house stood a tall pole with an antenna made of a metal cylinder.

At the beginning, the receiver was placed on an island 4.8 kilometers away from the coast, and the communication effect was good. Then he expanded the distance to 14.5 km, and it also succeeded. In the following years, Marconi improved the communication device and increased the communication distance. 190 1 February, Marconi realized more than 2,000 miles of overseas communication from Britain to Canada, which marked that radio has become a global undertaking.

Newton discovered gravity.

From 1665 to 1667, Newton was already thinking about gravity. One night, he was sitting under an apple tree to enjoy the cool, and an apple fell from the tree. It suddenly occurred to him: Why do apples only fall to the ground and not fly to the sky? He analyzed Heliocentrism of Copernicus and Kepler's three laws.

Then think: why do planets go around the sun but don't leave? Why are planets fast when they are near the sun and slow when they are far away from the sun? The farther the planet is from the sun, why does it run longer? Newton believed that their fundamental reason was that the sun was very attractive.

5. delaisse, the inventor of bicycle.

Delaisse used to be a forest ranger. He had to walk from one forest to another every day. Years of hard work on foot aroused his desire to invent a means of transportation. He thought: If people can sit on wheels, they will walk faster! In this way, delaisse began to design and manufacture bicycles.

He made a unicycle with two wooden wheels, a seat and a handlebar, which is connected to the front wheel for control. People sit in cars and drive wooden wheels with their feet. In this way, the world's first bicycle came out. 18 17, delaisse rode his bike for the first time and was ridiculed all the way ... He was determined to answer this ridicule with facts.

1839, Macmillan, a native of Scotland, invented the pedal and put it on the front wheel of the bicycle, which greatly improved the bicycle technology. In the following decades, various bicycles emerged, such as windsurfing bicycles, water treadmills, ice bicycles and five-wheeled bicycles, and bicycles gradually became popular means of transportation.
