Bigo (Dagolas) is an old acquaintance. Born in the 6th-5th century BC, Samos (memory: immortal) island in ancient Greece (separated from Miletus by water).
The famous philosophers in the past basically represented a faction, and so did Bigo; Besides, his faction is more powerful. The era that followed was religion (there was no such name at that time), and he was the leader. All remarks inside and outside the faction must be made in the name of Bigo. It is said that a buddy in Pai made his own remarks alone and was thrown into the sea by a deacon in Pai.
Bigo believes that the origin of the world is "number" (notes are mainly used to facilitate memory and straighten out ideas, so they are not very rigorous). Aristotle said:
Feeling: the magic of this universe is that it can explain the world from any angle; This flexibility of everything is wonderful. Just like everything is a sphere, every angle of a sphere has various forces, its own rotation and revolution, and it is another kind of cosmic body. ...
At that time, it was thought that "God" created the world. But at that time, the Greek gods (Homer's epic) were all "human gods" and were as immoral as people. War, revenge, incest and ... everything has come, bringing people all kinds of anxiety. They can neither be the object of worship nor the source of any spiritual strength. How could they make the world? So the Pythagorean school is very contradictory. They believe that only studying science and mathematics is the best washing for the soul. So they devote themselves to the study of mathematics.
Pythagoras school found that there is a relationship between arithmetic and geometry. They use pebbles to explain: "A pebble represents a point. The second is composed of two pebbles or two points to form a line. Three points, just like three corners of a triangle, form a face or area, and four points can represent a solid. This shows that quantity and size are closely related. "
They believe that everything with shape and size has a number basis (from counting to structure); Even intangible things, such as light and darkness, are the opposite of numbers. So they concluded that everything was a number.
The philosophical significance of the Pythagorean school's primitivism: human thinking has moved from the concept of "matter" to the concept of "form", or the abstract level and angle (generalization); It is also a breakthrough and innovation in the form of thinking. In terms of the continuity of thought, Miletus school thinks that the origin of the world is "matter" (infinity), while Pythagoras school puts forward the application of "matter" (limitation).
