Ludong university, located in Yantai City, Shandong Province, is a provincial-level key construction university with humanities as the main body and multidisciplinary coordinated development. 20 12 became the first unit to serve the national special-needs doctor training plan and a famous school in Shandong Province to train applied talents (Shandong Famous School Project). In 20 14, it was approved to educate Post-Doctoral Research Center, becoming one of the two universities in the province with bachelor's, master's, doctoral and postdoctoral teacher education and training systems. Wang Meng, the former Minister of Culture and a famous writer, commented on ludong university's "outstanding talents and school spirit".

Founded in 1930, the school has gone through the historical stages of Shandong Provincial Second Rural Normal School, Jiaodong Public School, Laiyang Normal School, Laiyang Normal College, Yantai Teachers' College, Yantai Teachers' Training School and Yantai Normal College. 200 1, Shandong Communications School, which was directly under the former Shandong Provincial Communications Department and founded in 1978, merged.
