The college entrance examination in Gansu is divided into two subjects: cultural quality and professional foundation, which is organized by the Provincial Education Examinations Institute. Cultural quality mainly tests the basic knowledge of candidates, and the examination subjects are computer foundation and college English. Professional foundation mainly tests the students' mastery of professional basic knowledge in higher vocational colleges.
There are two ways to register for the unified college entrance examination in Gansu Province: exemption and unified examination.
(1) Admission without test. Admission without examination refers to the fresh graduates who have excellent academic performance and no violations of law and discipline during their studies in ordinary higher vocational colleges in Gansu Province. Fresh graduates who meet one of the following conditions can be exempted from the unified examination of cultural quality and only apply for the professional ability test organized by the admissions institution.
1. Fresh graduates who won the national third prize and above in the National Vocational College Skills Competition, World Skills Competition and China Vocational Skills Competition led by the Ministry of Education and Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security.
2. Fresh graduates who won the third prize and above in the National Electronic Design Competition for College Students led by the Ministry of Education and the China International "internet plus" Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition for College Students.
3. Fresh graduates who entered the top 3 in the individual competition of the National Student Games. Fresh graduates who won the third prize and above in the mathematical modeling competition and advertising art competition (higher vocational group) jointly sponsored by the Higher Education Department of the Ministry of Education and the competent departments of the industry.
4. Fresh graduates who won the first prize in the Student Skills Competition of Gansu Vocational Colleges.
5. Graduates of higher vocational colleges (junior college) who rank in the top 3% in professional comprehensive evaluation during their school years.
6. Retired college student soldiers who meet the enrollment conditions in our province.
(2) unified examination. Except for the candidates who are admitted without examination, the rest of the candidates must take the unified examination. The implementation of the evaluation method of "cultural quality+professional foundation" is organized and implemented by the Provincial Education Examinations Institute.
