During the period of 1994- 1999, the college entrance examination in Xinjiang adopted the "3+2" model, in which "3" means Chinese, mathematics and foreign languages, and "2" means that liberal arts students take politics and history, and science students take physics and chemistry. Full marks in all subjects 150, with a total score of 750.

Then, according to the "Implementation Opinions of the State Council on Deepening the Reform of the Examination Enrollment System", the pilot reform of the examination enrollment system was launched in 20 14, and it was fully promoted nationwide in 20 17. By 2020, the enrollment system of modern education examination with China characteristics will be basically established. The reform of the examination enrollment system in Xinjiang has been officially implemented since 20 19. By then, the grade test scores of the ordinary high school level test will be included in the total score of the college entrance examination in accordance with relevant regulations.
