You must avoid my mistakes.
These after-the-fact summaries seem to be full of helplessness. After all, there is no if in life. It is better to look to the future than to dwell on the past.
This sentence is very classic and reasonable. But for a two-child family, it is only half right.
Because the pit that the boss stepped on can really be avoided on the second child, and the successful experience of the boss can really be copied on the second child.
A family with two children enjoys a second chance. When you think about "If you are the boss …", besides making up as much as possible, the more important value is actually to avoid repeating the same mistakes in the second child.
As for my own family, when I plan for Xixi (4-year-old junior middle school class), I can really learn from the experience of Miaomiao (9-year-old and 4-year-old) to a great extent.
impression
As Puwa's parents, I saw that "other people's children" went to RAZ intermediate level in kindergarten, mathematics conquered multiplication and division, and Chinese reading broke thousands of volumes. How can I not be anxious?
If it had been my boss, Miaomiao, I would have been really worried, but now, I don't brag at all, and I'm really relieved. It's not that I lie flat, but that I can see through the essence and enjoy my own rhythm with peace of mind.
When Miaomiao was a child, we had too many reserves. Later, in order to remedy it, chicken blood took a while. Between a loose and a tight, the heart has experienced too many struggles.
At the beginning, I was stocking, because I experienced a complete learning process, looked too macro, thought too ideal, and ignored my own feet.
For example, I type all day now and hardly need to write, so I think it's useless to write well; I think arithmetic can be done well in the end. There is no need to practice specially, so I don't pay attention to calculation.
Not to mention whether my personal experience is one-sided, even if it is universally applicable, I can't ignore the current reality:
Although you don't have to, you have to take the exam at school!
I've always said "overcorrection is inevitable", and so have I. So in order to correct my previous mistakes later, I went to the other extreme, obsessed with details too much, and always tried to make up for my previous negligence with a short sprint.
This chicken blood is really effective, otherwise Miaomiao's English could not have improved so fast. But after a long time, I gradually found that if I am too immersed in the details, I will go to the other extreme of "one leaf can't see Mount Tai".
After experiencing two extremes, we finally slowly return to balance-we must have macro thinking and not ignore the present. Although the detours we have taken before did waste some time, the peace after these experiences is the real peace.
In view of this, I made some adjustments to her preschool plan in the middle class of Xixi Kindergarten.
principle
Planning is from the whole to the concrete, from the macro to the details, so making clear the overall principle is the first step.
With the guidance of principles, we can better implement the details, always grasp the direction in the implementation process and not be confused by scattered methods.
Especially considering some changes after the "double drop", it is necessary to make targeted adjustments to the plan.
Ability is more important than knowledge.
Miaomiao has been in primary school for several years. Although I used to feel guilty for her confusion when she entered primary school from scratch, it was not until the shortcomings of knowledge itself were slowly filled that I found that the ability to really see clearly was more important than knowledge itself.
This sentence is easy to say, but it is easy to get lost in practice.
Ability really depends on knowledge. Without the accumulation of knowledge, ability is impossible. But the knowledge I'm talking about is not limited to textbooks, or even conventional knowledge.
After all, it is easy for primary school students to make up for this knowledge. But the accumulation of ability is a long process.
For example, knowing numbers is more effective than entering deliberate training too early.
With the basic cognition of numbers, we can really understand the meaning of numbers in the accumulated games, and the later deliberate training will be more efficient.
Interest is more important than theory.
Protecting children's interests has become common sense in education. There should be no objection to this.
But I found that many people's understanding of interest is too rigid, ignoring the premise that every child's interest is different.
For example, I saw on the official WeChat account that you should not learn to calculate before going to school, but use objects to stimulate interest. But in fact, some children just like to sit at the table and pick up a pen to count. Are you going to kill his interest?
For another example, although I think RAZ is boring and the Oxford tree is more interesting, some children just prefer RAZ. Are you going to force him to read the Oxford tree that you find interesting?
Many theories in education are summarized from experience and have certain universality, but universality is not absolute. As for the interests of various subjects, children from different families are very different.
Children's theoretical interests and practical interests are sometimes different.
You can see the official account of WeChat and learn from his experience, but in the end, it is up to parents to find out whether their children really suit their interests.
Trying is more important than dogma.
This article is somewhat similar to the last one, and it is also a conflict between theory and practice.
You may have heard what abilities children of different ages should have. When comparing with your own children, once you meet or exceed the standard, you will be proud. If you fall behind, you will be full of anxiety.
Don't have to!
Let me give an example that almost all parents have experienced, which will be easier to understand.
After the children are born, we will take them to the hospital for physical examination every once in a while, and compare their weight, height, head circumference and various indicators according to standards. There will always be some minor problems.
At this time, my heart must be full of anxiety.
I still remember when Miaomiao was a child, because he liked to straighten his feet, he was diagnosed as "hypertonia" by doctors for a while. I looked it up on the Internet and found that high muscle tone is probably a sign of cerebral palsy. Almost scared to death.
Doctors mean no harm, just tell the truth, but their dogma about knowledge will make parents nervous.
I believe many parents have encountered similar things. But in most cases, it's a false alarm-please note, I'm just saying that in most cases, if there is a problem, I believe the responsible doctor will explain the situation to you seriously and will not be vague.
It is still difficult for parents to get rid of this mentality from "nurturing" to "nurturing".
However, even the relatively objective indicators such as height, weight and head circumference can't really measure the all-round growth of children, let alone the less rigorous standards such as "how many books have you read" and "how many can you count"?
Speaking of which, I have to correct it. You might think I would say something like relax and let the children grow up freely again.
Actually, it's not. Pay attention to the exam. My subtitle is "Trying is more important than dogma". The previous discussion just said not to stick to dogma.
However, parents should pay more attention to this matter and must not set limits for their children in their hearts.
Take an extreme example-if your child is a genius, he can really learn all kinds of knowledge at an early age, but you never try and don't give him a chance to get in touch with these things, that day will be buried.
Therefore, it is very important to try, not only to learn to try upward (increase progress), but also to learn to try downward (decrease progress). Finding a schedule that really suits children can only be done by parents.
Interaction is more important than solitude.
What kind of English enlightenment materials were written some time ago that are "easy to use and free"? The principle is four words! I bought that set of English books just to make myself lazy and let Xixi expand her English ability through "self-study".
But don't get me wrong, being lazy without spending money on mom and dad can only be done occasionally, just like cheating on food in the process of fitness and weight loss. Eating a meal every ten days and a half months is beneficial and harmless, but if you think that you can lose weight by eating deceptive meals every day, you are really deceiving yourself.
So many times I will still insist on parent-child reading, regardless of Chinese and English.
Do you think children let you read just to listen to the content? Obviously, reading supporting audio is more obvious than that of parents, and reading pens are more interesting. Why bother your parents?
Children obviously like not only the content itself, but also the feeling of reading with their parents. Even if parents don't do any expansion at all, it is still the best voice in children's hearts.
For example, my mother's specialty is still the most beautiful in the world.
Of course, no parent doesn't want to be lazy. The only difference lies in the degree and method of laziness. For example, the same book, at least after parents and children read it for a period of time, should be alone to help children consolidate.
Even so, it is still the best way to learn to let this lovely little guy sit on his lap occasionally, accompany her to read and talk about her interest in books.
From the perspective of interaction, there is no such means as parent-child reading.
There may be many good teachers, but there is only one pair of good parents at most.
implement
Now that the principle has been completed, it's time for concrete planning and implementation.
I divided it into three parts from the most understandable point of view: language, numbers and English.
Once again, this is just my opinion as a parent of Puwa, which will be adjusted at any time according to the situation later. No matter how comprehensive the plan is, we should also respect the actual effect.
Chinese: read more and read early.
Literacy is not an end, but reading. I don't have any specific tools here, just the classic "four or five fast reading".
Many people think this set of books is boring, so do I. But I can't hold my breath. I really like it. It really works. I have tried to read cards or other materials before, but it seems that they are not as effective as this.
If you don't know, please refer to the previous article "Interest is more important than theory". I'm afraid it's hard to make progress if I give up trying when I hear others say that "four or five speed reading" is boring.
Therefore, children's interests must respect the children themselves. Children may not be interested in what you find interesting.
It needs to be admitted that Miao Ma is mainly doing the work of teaching Xixi to read, and I enjoy it most of the time.
Xixi has finished learning Book Four and learned some simple Chinese characters. She will also read the words she knows on TV and in her daily life, which is regarded as applying what she has learned.
Moreover, the application in life is indeed the greatest magic weapon for language learning.
Later, I will arrange some story audio for her according to the situation, or recite simple ancient poems.
As for writing, there is no hurry. Although she is very interested now, she always does her homework in Miaomiao and even "invents Oracle Bone Inscriptions" herself.
But I'm just trying slowly, and I'm not in a hurry to push forward.
Reading after literacy is the highlight. With reading, cognition can be improved quickly, and learning after entering school can be more handy.
Mathematics: Respect ability and be brave in trying.
For preschool children, mathematics obviously cannot be limited to any textbook. Although the later systematic study is essential, it is very important to cultivate interest.
At present, Xixi seems to be most interested in digital things. I like to do arithmetic problems when I have nothing to do on weekdays. Even when I see my sister doing official math, I will clamor for us to buy it for her.
She is also her best toy at home. She always likes to play with it back and forth, and she feels a sense of accomplishment every time.
In this regard, my principle is still to respect children. Although she hasn't fully grasped the numbers from the "physical" level, since she is so interested, let it be.
Mathematical correspondence ability also includes concentration and thinking. In this respect, her favorite things are puzzles, mazes and finding differences. In the past, puzzles were bought at random, but recently I began to make some graded puzzles.
Because there is no advanced system before, it may be a bit difficult to see so many pieces in front of you at first. However, after Miaomiao and I played with her several times, we could easily get started, and a problem with a size close to 65,438+000 was quickly solved.
It is essential to strive to be advanced, otherwise it is irresponsible to stay at a low level.
English: emphasize the application, don't be impatient.
I am an English translator and often write English enlightenment, so according to common sense, English should be the highlight of Xixi preschool, and I will definitely brush the progress.
However, no!
With the successful experience of Miaomiao, I feel relieved about English. Miaomiao entered school at zero basis in that year, and didn't start enlightenment until the second grade. I can advance by leaps and bounds in just one or two years, so I have great confidence in this matter.
Miaomiao has gone to an extreme. While ensuring that Xixi will not repeat the same mistakes, I should also be careful not to go to the other extreme.
Because of this, I am not too impatient in English, and I have no idea of being eager for success at all.
Although reading a lot of picture books, watching cartoons and listening to audio are essential, I didn't start ahead of schedule to keep up with Niu Wa.
As I have said countless times before, the biggest difference between English and Chinese is that English is a phonetic symbol. As long as the listening foundation is solid, the later reading progress can be very fast.
So at this stage, I mostly have a simple conversation with her in life after she has mastered some basic English skills. Guide her to transform the language ability obtained through input into output ability.
After all, there is still a long way to go to understand and speak.
Xixi can recognize Chinese characters much faster than English words. If it was before, I would be very anxious. But it's calm now. After all, you will only be late, not absent.
Slow down, I heard that the foundation is good. You can put Chinese characters first, and you won't lose anything if you have time to recognize more Chinese characters.
Of course, in addition, there are other abilities such as sports, painting and music to be taken into account, but this is another topic, which will be discussed later.
abstract
Finally, to sum up, because of the experience and lessons of Miaomiao, I am more confident and targeted in the bustling pre-school planning.
So summed up the following four principles:
0 1
Ability is more important than knowledge.
02
Interest is more important than theory.
03
Trying is more important than dogma.
04
Interaction is more important than solitude.
On this basis, we plan Chinese literacy/reading, mathematical thinking/ability, and English input/accumulation.
Although it's just a family statement, with me accompanying Miaomiao to explore the road ahead, Xixi's growth should be able to avoid detours. Of course, I hope you can get some inspiration after reading this article.
