Baoshan Teachers College is located in Longyang District, Baoshan City, Yunnan Province. It is one of the first four normal colleges in Yunnan Province approved by the State Council in 1978.
Baoshan, known as Yongchang in ancient times, is an important town in western Yunnan that was developed earlier in history. Baoshan has a prosperous culture, outstanding people, pleasant climate, beautiful environment and abundant resources. There are national nature reserves "Gaoligong Mountain", national Tengchong "Huoshan Rehai Park" and top ten charming towns in China Heshun. Baoshan is located in the center of Dali, Dehong, Lijiang, Lincang, Nujiang and Diqing. Close to Dali and Lijiang, with convenient transportation. The expressway has been opened, with two airports, Baoshan and Tengchong. It is an important distribution center for land trade between China and Myanmar in past dynasties. With the continuous expansion of opening to the outside world, Baoshan's role as a "bridgehead" for South Asia and Southeast Asia will become increasingly prominent.
Baoshan Teachers College was relocated and rebuilt in 2002. The new campus covers an area of 800 mu. At present, the construction of the new campus has been basically completed and a modern university has begun to take shape.
In addition to Yunnan province, the school also recruits students from other provinces 16, with 5,000 full-time students. In 2006, two undergraduate majors, secretary and computer application, were jointly held, and in 2007, a five-year junior college class was jointly held with Nujiang Prefecture. At present, there are 33 majors in Chinese, Mathematics, English, Political History, Physics, Biochemistry, Music, Fine Arts, Computer, Education and Physical Education, which are divided into seven categories and nine secondary categories.
The school has 397 faculty members and 284 full-time teachers. Among them, doctoral students 10 (including studying), master students 129 (including studying), and the proportion of full-time teachers with postgraduate education is 31%; There are 0/2 professors and 76 associate professors, and the proportion of teachers with senior titles is 3 1%. Since 1993, 17 foreign teachers from the United States, Britain, Sweden, Australia and other countries have come to teach in our school. The school has 19 multimedia classrooms (above 323 1), 7 computer rooms (325) and 9 advanced digital language laboratories (above 400). The campus LAN uses 100M optical fiber to access the Internet, adopts fast Ethernet technology, connects more than 500 computers in a star topology, and another 2M dedicated circuit is connected to Cernet for teaching. In April 2008, the biological engineering wasabi technology project of Baoshan Normal University passed the appraisal and acceptance by an expert group composed of Nanjing Agricultural University, Guangxi University and Yunnan University, and the achievement was the first in China.
