Introduction to the competition:

In order to tap the elite players in the field of mathematical modeling and give full play to the innovative thinking ability of Chinese college students, this competition is specially held. The contest is conducted in the form of a unified proposition, so that college students can give full play to their creativity and imagination, propose solutions to problems, and then submit solutions in the form of papers (with pictures and texts, not less than 3,000 words). The organizing committee of the competition will grade the papers according to their innovation, technical content and research value. And award outstanding works according to the scores.

Competition topics generally come from practical problems that have been properly simplified and handled in engineering technology and management science. Participants are not required to master in-depth professional knowledge in advance, but only need to have studied mathematics courses in colleges and universities. The topic has great flexibility, allowing participants to exert their creative ability. Participants should complete a paper (that is, an answer sheet) including the hypothesis of the model, the establishment and solution, the design and computer realization of the calculation method, the analysis and test of the results, and the improvement of the model. Competition awards are based on the rationality of assumptions, the creativity of modeling, the correctness of results and the clarity of text expression.

Full-time college students, undergraduates and graduate students in colleges and universities all over the country can participate. Professor Tsinghua University, Institute of Mathematics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beihang University, etc. In the first two sessions, students from Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, Zhejiang Normal University, Fudan University and other universities made outstanding achievements and were praised by the school.
