Covering an area of 3 1329, it is unique in that the theoretical basis of geometric composition of polyhedral space rigid frame structure of "water cube" is "bubble theory". The study of "bubble theory" has a history of more than one hundred years. This structural model is ubiquitous in nature, such as the basic arrangement of cell organizational units and the natural structure of bubbles and soap bubbles. However, this form has never been used as a building structure, and the National Swimming Center applied it to the building structure for the first time. The basic model of "water cube" structural geometry is based on the optimized polyhedron combination. The actual geometric shape is formed as follows: firstly, an improved polyhedron array larger than the "water cube" building is generated, and then the array is rotated 60 degrees around the vector axis of (0,0,0) → (1, 1), and1is cut out of the polyhedron array. The edges cut by the polyhedron unit on two tangent planes respectively constitute the upper chord and the lower chord of the roof structure and the chords of the inner and outer surfaces of the wall structure, and the polyhedron edge between the two tangent planes is the web of the structure. The "water cube" structure system was originally proposed by ARUP in Australia in the architectural scheme. China research team creatively improved and developed it, formed a systematic design theory, and successfully implemented it in practical projects.
