Guangdong's 3+ certificate policy was implemented on 200 1. This policy means that when recruiting graduates from secondary vocational schools, ordinary colleges and universities require candidates to have three or three conditions, that is, to pass written examinations in Chinese, mathematics and English, and to obtain the professional skills course examination grade certificate issued by the examination center of the Ministry of Education or the ordinary high school academic level examination grade certificate recognized by the Ministry of Education. The implementation of this policy aims at improving the comprehensive quality and ability of secondary vocational school graduates and promoting their smooth promotion to ordinary colleges and universities for further study. Since 200 1, Guangdong province has been adhering to and improving the 3+ certificate policy, providing more opportunities and conditions for secondary vocational school graduates to further their studies.
