Jiangsu Province, referred to as "Su" for short, is the provincial administrative region of People's Republic of China (PRC), with Nanjing as its capital, located in the Yangtze River Delta and the eastern coast, with a land span of 30 45' ~ 35 08' N and16 21'~128 E. Total area 107200 square kilometers.
By the end of 20021,there were 13 districts and cities and 95 counties (cities, districts) in Jiangsu province with a permanent population of 85.054 million. In a.d. 1667, a province was established due to the partition of east and west in the south of the Yangtze River. The province is called "Jiangnan Jianghuai Yangxu Haitong and other places to undertake publicity and deployment department" and "Jiangnan Susong Changzhentai and other places to undertake publicity and deployment department", which are collectively referred to as short names.

The development and livelihood index (DLI) of Jiangsu ranks first in China, and it is the province with the highest comprehensive development level in China.
The comprehensive competitiveness of Jiangsu's regional economy ranks among the top in the country, with the largest manufacturing cluster and the largest scale of actually utilized foreign capital. Since 2009, the per capita GDP has ranked first in all provinces and regions in China, reaching the level of "upper-middle" developed countries.
