The battle of mathematics
My son Xuanxuan is six years old. In order to make him integrate into primary school faster and better next year, I decided to let Xuanxuan practice some simple math first. Under the recommendation of my classmate Xiao Min, I bought this set of math addition and subtraction exercises in ten minutes to lay the foundation.

So the math war began.

On the first day, I taught Jessica Hester Hsuan to "count his fingers" in the oldest way, and stammered 36 questions on one page. Although it is slow, the accuracy is actually good, which is a good start.

The next day, my son left without thinking. I think I have to give him a reason to do his homework, and promise him that he can buy him a gyro that he has been thinking about for a long time after writing three pages.

On the fifth day, Jessica Hester Hsuan voluntarily completed the task and got the gyro.

The reward of toys worked. We started a new round of toy acquisition task. After completing 30 pages, we can buy another toy: Burst Flying Car. However, after a few days, its effectiveness gradually became ineffective. 30 pages, one page a day, the return after 30 days is too far for him.

On the tenth day, Jessica Hester Hsuan refused to do the problem.

On the twelfth day, the integral system is adopted, and the card is stamped every day. Every time we finish the day's exercise, we can get a score and stamp it. This is a small reward. If we accumulate enough points, we can exchange them for toys. This is a great reward.

Three months later, Jessica Hester Hsuan has mastered the addition and subtraction within ten.

Children have the nature of changing their minds. The utility of integrals and toys is like a wave curve, and learning needs to be persisted every day. So when Jessica Hester Hsuan didn't want to do the problem, I used the following five methods to stimulate his learning motivation and practice mathematics.

(1) Card game.

I came into contact with addition and subtraction within ten minutes and thought of a card game. The rule is simply to compare sizes. We all have half a deck of cards in our hands. At first, each of us played two cards, and asked the child to say whose two cards add up to the biggest and whose card is the biggest, and then said how big it is, and then all the cards on the table will belong to him. The child sometimes doesn't want to do the problem, but he is very willing to play this card game with me, and he wants to win the card very much and urges him to divide the card. When dividing cards, he will choose some big cards for himself and then give me the smaller ones, so he will often win the cards happily, and then he will be willing to play this game where he can practice addition and subtraction.

(2) Let children choose their own gifts.

Open Taobao, search for children's toys, let him choose the toys he wants, and tell him how many points he can redeem after choosing the toys.

(3) Constantly remind the supervisor.

Don't expect too much of your child's consciousness and self-control. Every day before going to work, he will be reminded to finish the math homework his mother said before watching TV or playing. But when he comes home from work, he always sees him watching TV or playing, leaving his homework somewhere. At this time, I still need to turn off the TV or put away my toys and pull him from cartoons and toys to exercises.

(4) verbal encouragement.

Children will be praised if they answer a page correctly; When you encounter an unskilled problem, you will say think again, think again, and you can do it right before. At this time, the child will rethink and get the correct answer. Encouraging words to give positive feedback to children's learning will give them positive motivation.

(5) sparring.

At the end of the exercise, the difficulty of the topic increased, and the child began to be unwilling to do the topic again, on the grounds that the topic was too difficult. At that time, I thought it might be that the children thought it was too boring to do the problems by themselves, so they tried the mode of watching the problems by themselves and the children doing the problems. This way of accompanying children to see questions is still very effective, and the speed of children doing questions has accelerated a lot. Of course, I also realized that reading questions all the time is not a long-term solution, so I gradually reduced the frequency of reading questions, and children began to get used to doing questions without reading them.

For more than three months, I deeply feel that you want your children to keep learning and take the initiative to learn, which is also a huge challenge for themselves.

Parents are children's role models and mirrors. If you insist, the child will insist. When you relax, your children can easily relax themselves. Therefore, parents should have patience and perseverance when igniting their children's thirst for knowledge.
