How to Cultivate Students' Mathematics Reading Ability
Mathematics is a science, a culture, a language and a language to describe science. With the development of society, the progress of science and technology, and the "mathematicization" of society, it is impossible without good basic skills of mathematics reading. Therefore, attaching importance to mathematics reading in mathematics teaching and cultivating students' good mathematics reading habits and strong mathematics reading ability are issues that every mathematics teacher should pay attention to. I think we can start from the following aspects: 1. Writing Reading Outline In order to enable students to read purposefully with questions, teachers can arrange reading outlines in combination with teaching contents, so as to urge students to quickly grasp the essence of books and cultivate students' rigorous, meticulous and scientific academic spirit. Mathematics textbooks, after all, are different from liberal arts textbooks and have obvious characteristics of abstraction and conciseness. When students start reading textbooks, they may think less according to their habits of reading Chinese or novels. As a result, I gained little and even lost my interest in reading. Therefore, the teacher might as well make a reading demonstration first, and then write a reading outline from detailed to rough, teach them math reading skills, and let them gradually master some math reading skills. Slowly, when they feel the pleasure of success from reading, their reading consciousness will be strengthened. For better students, they can also make their own reading plans (including progress), complete reading notes independently, and cultivate their good reading habits. Second, recommending good extracurricular reading materials can often improve students' interest in reading, stimulate students' thirst for knowledge, and stimulate students' enthusiasm for learning. Historically, many mathematicians were influenced by some excellent mathematics books in their youth, from which they were not only influenced by the spirit, ideas and methods of mathematics, but also left an unforgettable impression in their lives. Providing students with good extracurricular reading materials, helping and encouraging them to read actively can broaden their knowledge horizons and improve their ability to acquire knowledge independently. Third, students who exchange reading experience have different mathematical foundations, different reading abilities and different degrees of self-awareness. It is undoubtedly beneficial to improve students' reading ability in a large area to organize students to exchange mathematics reading experience irregularly. Generally speaking, students' mathematics learning activities are always carried out in classes. The learning atmosphere of the class group and the influence between like-minded students will affect the learning of its members tangibly or invisibly. Therefore, teachers should guide correctly, truly embody the principle of taking students as the main body and teachers as the leading factor in teaching, do everything possible to stimulate and mobilize students' enthusiasm for learning, encourage students to communicate and discuss with each other, and provide students with an opportunity to learn from each other and understand themselves and others. Fourthly, refining thinking methods and mathematical thinking are the basic viewpoints of mathematical activities; Mathematical method is a method that provides ideas, logical means and specific operating principles for mathematical activities under the guidance of mathematical thought. Mathematical thinking method is the refinement, abstraction, generalization and sublimation of mathematical knowledge, and it is a more general understanding of mathematical laws. It is contained in mathematical knowledge and needs learners to explore. Mathematician Hua believes that learning should go through the process of "from thin to thick" and "from thick to thin" "From thin to thick" means knowing and understanding what you have learned, knowing what it is and why; "From coarse to fine" is to connect the knowledge learned, then refine its spiritual essence, grasp key clues and basic thinking methods, and organize it into concise content. It can be said that "from coarse to fine" is the fundamental purpose of reading and the core of mathematics reading ability. V. Practice Writing Papers On the basis of reading and communication, students should be properly guided to write math reading notes or math papers. Combining reading and writing, using hands and brains to promote the development of thinking is an important way to improve reading efficiency. After long-term training, we can cultivate students' creative thinking, cultivate students' habit of finding, thinking and solving problems, and transfer this habit to other disciplines. This is an arduous and very important task in mathematics teaching. In short, as long as teachers change their teaching concepts and start with cultivating their abilities, they should give students more guidance in mathematics reading, more reading time and more reading materials. Students will change the idea that they can learn mathematics well by listening carefully and doing more exercises, and instead start with cultivating their own ability and their own mathematics reading ability, and students' reading ability will be generally improved.
