Why does 1 page cause controversy? As we all know, the relationship between theory and practice has long been solved in Marx's subjectivity theory. Theory comes from practice, and practice is the only criterion for testing truth. This is the basic knowledge of Marxist philosophy. Why is there a national debate about this basic philosophical common sense? Some comrades find it difficult to understand, but there is nothing difficult to understand. For more than ten years, Lin Biao and the Gang of Four pursued the idealistic ideological line, deified revolutionary instructors, created modern superstitions, and preached that "every sentence is truth" and "one sentence is worth 10,000 sentences", which completely reversed the correct relationship between theory and practice and confused people's thoughts. After the downfall of the Gang of Four, the CPC Central Committee headed by Comrade Hua Guofeng led the people of the whole country to conduct a comprehensive liquidation of Lin Biao and the Gang of Four and made great achievements. However, due to the pernicious influence of Lin Biao and the Gang of Four, this phenomenon is far from being eliminated. Therefore, some comrades often think about topics and do things not from reality, but from what the revolutionary mentor said. In their view, no matter what the revolutionary mentor said, no matter what the actual situation is, no matter right or wrong, we must do it word by word and nothing can change it. They call it holding high the flag. Page 2 Anyone who insists on seeking truth from facts and proceeding from reality is considered to have made a big mistake, saying that you are "throwing a knife" or "cutting the flag". This situation will seriously affect bringing order out of chaos, restoring and carrying forward the party's fine traditions and style of work, implementing the party's series of principles and policies, implementing the party's 11th National Congress line, and realizing the four modernizations as soon as possible. For example, Lin Biao and the Gang of Four, out of the counter-revolutionary need to usurp the party and seize power, reversed the enemy and defeated everything, resulting in many unjust, false and wrong cases. Unless these unjust, false and misjudged cases are completely rehabilitated, the enthusiasm of the broad masses will not be mobilized and the situation of stability and unity will not be formed. It is also impossible to promote the national economy. In some places, mistakes must be corrected not from reality, but from quotation, approval and "circle" This is approved by a certain leader, even if it is clearly wrong, it will not be rehabilitated, and some will leave a tail for others. For another example, the Eleventh National Congress of the Communist Party of China and the Fifth National People's Congress put forward the general task of national work in the new period, which is to realize the grand goal of China's socialist four modernizations by the end of this century. This is a great revolution that fundamentally changes China's backward economy and technology and further consolidates the dictatorship of the proletariat. To complete such an unprecedented great revolution, all fronts will inevitably encounter some new situations and problems. These new situations and new problems were unforeseeable during Mao Zedong's lifetime. Faced with this reality, what should we do? According to the principle of integrating theory with practice, we can only combine the basic principles of Marxism-Leninism and Mao Zedong Thought with the actual situation, proceed from reality and boldly put forward solutions to new problems arising under new conditions. We should not lie on the principles of Marxism-Leninism and Mao Zedong Thought, but copy the "book" of Marxism-Leninism. The above examples all involve a theoretical question, that is, what are our criteria for judging right and wrong and the basis for solving problems? Is it a practice or a revolutionary teacher? Is there one or several standards to test the truth? Only by solving the problem of testing truth in theory can we emancipate our minds, persist in seeking truth from facts, and proceed from reality in everything, so that what is right is right and what is wrong is wrong. No matter who said or did it, we should persist in what has been proved right by practice and correct what has been proved wrong by practice. If we don't solve the standard problem of testing truth in theory, those problems encountered in practice can't be solved. So the argument is inevitable. In other words, the emergence of this discussion is by no means accidental, nor is it just caused by a chapter. This is the inevitable result of the in-depth development of the struggle to expose and criticize Lin Biao and the Gang of Four. (Zhou Baoxi) Page 4
