The research station is located on the ice sheet of the Arctic Ocean, about132km away from the North Pole and close to the Canadian Islands. Arctic-1 scientific research station was completed on May 2 1, 1937, and started operation on June 2 1, 1937, becoming the first permanent human settlement in the Arctic.
The Arctic-1 scientific research station, led by the Soviet polar scientist Ivan Dmitrievich Elemenko, aims to carry out meteorological, geomagnetic and geological research in the Arctic region and observe the Arctic environment. The scientific research station adopts wooden structure, including indoor residence, laboratory, warehouse and power plant. The expedition members made long-term observation and research under the cold polar conditions, which laid the foundation for the subsequent scientific investigation in the Arctic.
The development of scientific research:
1. Ancient times: Ancient scientific research was mainly concentrated in the fields of mathematics, astronomy and medicine. Archimedes in ancient Greece and Ptolemy in Egypt made important contributions.
2. From the Middle Ages to the Enlightenment: In the Middle Ages, the development of science was restricted by religion, but there were still some scientists such as Copernicus, Galileo and Newton who promoted the progress of science.
3.19th century: With the rise of the industrial revolution, scientific research has received more funds and support, and various fields of modern science have developed rapidly, such as physics, chemistry and biology.
4.20th century: Scientific research in the 20th century witnessed many major breakthroughs. The introduction of quantum mechanics and relativity changed the concept of physics, the development of genetics revealed the mystery of heredity, and the rise of computer science revolutionized scientific research methods.
5.2 1 century: With the rapid development of science and technology, the pattern of scientific research is further expanded. The rise of interdisciplinary has promoted innovation and cooperation, digital technology has changed the way of data collection and analysis, and new technologies such as artificial intelligence have provided new possibilities for research.
